Every session is different. The first session will consist of a basic evaluation of foot skills, shooting, speed/agility, defending, 1 v 1s, and first touch. After the evaluation I then formulate a plan of attack and customize each player's sessions to strengthen their strengths, but also improve their weaknesses. Each session will always incorporate technical training as well as game situation training. I also incorporate speed, agility, strength and conditioning into their practice.

I have extremely high expectations of my players. Training will be competitive, intense, and will fly by faster than you can say "Bend it Like Beckham." I'm here to coach your child and teach them great soccer. I need all of my players giving me 100% otherwise the luxury of private training is a waste of my time, the players' time, and the PARENTS' time (and money).

I would encourage parents to record their child's game. Keep the camera on their child when they have the ball and when they don't. In other words keep the camera on their child during the whole game. Create a private youtube channel account for their child and download their games. Email me the link and I'll watch and evaluate their child's performance to see if they are using the skills we trained and practiced on. I go over the evaluations with the parents and their child to talk about their improvements. This youtube channel account link can also be emailed to clubs and college coaches.

Great teaching style

Stephen has been amazing helping our daughter develop in soccer. She has improved a lot since starting sessions with Stephen. He’s a great coach!

Coach Stephen is excellent! He was supportive, knowledgeable and great at motivating our 16 and 12 year old kids to learn new skills and focus on technique. Coach Stephen is particularly good at starting with simple introductions, then adding complexity and variables to take them out of their comfort zone and keep them learning. We will definitely ask to work with him again when we are back in town!

Coach Stephen is a fantastic. He was able to accommodate our schedule and location and is always super positive and focused. He was able to give my daughter specific actions and things to focus on that improved her playing and game awareness. He involved us as parents to act as defenders or teammates to expand the drills and create game situations.

Coach Stephen did a fantastic job with our young soccer player in developing and strengthening fundamental skills. We enjoyed the training session and would recommend him.

Fantastic Coach! Super accommodating and receptive to our specific feedback! Extremely patient and knowledgeable and keeps the sessions active and filled with energy!

In just a couple sessions I am already seeing an increase of confidence and skill set in both my girls!!

We are 100% satisfied with coach Stephen, and will continue have him coach our kids!!

Thanks Coach

Aaron Wagner

Stephen is a phenomenal coach. He is very reliable & prepared. I am impressed with his competency chart & how invested he is in the long term success of his students. We are excited to work with Stephen more!

Coach Stephen did a great job with my son Jaxon! After just one session my son improved a ton and was far more confident in his abilities. Coach Stephen’s expertise was obvious as he worked with and coached my 10 year old. We can’t wait to continue training and watch his growth! Coach Stephen is also very positive and encouraging and made it enjoyable for Jaxon to practice his soccer skills.

Coach Stephen,
Focused on what you need to learn by taking the time to understand better your current skill level and what you need to correct with technique. He is understanding, encouraging and made my daughter feel accepted but challenge her to keep moving to the next skill level.;

He is positive and motivational.

Amazing trainer. Him and his team listen very well to my goals each session and work hard to help me achieve them.
I have definitely improved since training with them and can see that I have room to improve more with them

Coach Stephen is Awesome!! My daughter just had her 1st session with him & it was great! We are definitely going to be signing up for more sessions. Highly recommend!!

I have been using Coach Stephen for the last few months to help my 10 year old son. Coach Stephen has been terrific! He is very positive and has helped my son build his confidence. I like the way in which he gives homework and links to websites where my son can learn more. And Coach Stephen is very flexible and adaptable to sudden changes in schedules or whatever. In general, he is a true professional in every way, which is what I hoped for when I signed up with him. I plan to utilize him for a long time.

Coach Stephen works great with my 8 year old. He engages with him in a positive way which facilitates training. My son is excited to train with him. We have need to 5 coaching sessions which is already make g a difference in his game.

Training with Coach Stephen was such a fun experience. My son not only had fun but made alot of progress in just a short amount of time. We look forward to training with him again.

We've only had our first session with Coach Stephen and couldn't be more pleased. He is just what we were looking for. He is positive and our son really loved working him and is excited to get back to his next session.

Coach Fiji, or Stephen is a very upbeat and positive coach and individual! He encourages the player while training, offers the criticism where it's needed, then suggests the ways to make it better. I like how he gets to know each person individually and connect with them. His knowledge of soccer is tip notch, he definitely knows his stuff. He offers professional videos to study and takes video of the training. I've never had that before, so it's great to see how I can improve. He for sure knows what's important in life. If you're looking for a coach/trainer to improve play, attitude, and character, he's definitely one I recommend!

Coach Figi has been nothing but amazing with our ten year old son. It's only been a month and already we are seeing improvement and confidence. Coach Figi is encouraging, kind, motivated and honest. He knows a lot about the sport of soccer but even more important, he knows what it takes to have confidence and believe in yourself. He has taught our son to believe in his playing and also teaching him great soccer drills at the same time. I would recommend Coach to any player who is looking to improve or to simply love the sport of soccer.

Coach Stephen aka Fiji has been great for our son!! He has learned so much from Coach! We love Coach Fijis' hard work ethic and demeanor!!!
We've had Coach Fiji train our son before tryouts as well as during the season! He helped our son succeed at tryouts, making the Premier Team as well as making the ODP (olympic developmental program) team!! Our son loves Coach Fiji and knows he is there to help him learn and become better!!
When we started with Coach Fiji he had a meeting with us and explained his training and met our son. After that he implemented trainings to help him succeed in the sport. He also came to as many games as possible, both indoor and outdoor to make sure our son was using the training he was getting as well as assessing anything else he needed to work on.
We appreciate all the time he has spent and have seen the rewards of hard work and proper technique training pay off!!
We would recommend Coach Fiji to everyone and know that whoever he works with, he will help them succeed, learn and grow in the sport!!! He is committed and we appreciate all his devotion and hard work!! We cannot recommend him enough, such a great Coach!!!

We really enjoyed our first session with coach Stephen. I GREATLY appreciated him coming to train my daughter in our area. Focusing on technique first was something I feel my daughter really needs. After training my daughter had the biggest smile on her face and loved what she learned. He is very positive and encouraging.

Update:
I had Four sessions with Stephen Blake the soccer trainer. I let him know what my daughters goals were before we booked and when we needed to achieve them by. Her main goal was to make the elite squad at this years tryouts.

She achieved her main goal and continues improving on the rest. She went from B team to Elite. Not only did he help her during the sessions, he made sure she had homework to work on and kept in contact until our next session.

I appreciate him and how he has helped my daughter and will be booking more with him.

Coach Stephen quickly connected with the girls and created a fun environment where he could push and encourage them without creating any anxiety over their first personal training session. They are all excited and looking forward to the next sessions.

Coach Stephen is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainer. I like his approach where he first runs the player through specific drills to assess their abilities. He then uses that to develop a training plan. He also assigns homework which is critical for any athlete. Would highly recommend!

Coach Blake was great working with my 16 year old son. Very open and enthusiastic with my son. It's been years since my son showed any excitement for soccer, but when coach Steve worked with him, he couldn't stop talking about the different things he worked on. The life in my sons eyes said a 1000 words after this session.

I highly recommend Stephen, he is a very motivational and skilled coach with a great personality. I really enjoyed my training session.

Stephen went above and beyond what our expectations were! The first game he came was a nice surprise! He came to several of her game! Knowing that he was there to put my daughters mindset that she didn't want to disappoint the coach.,Coach Stephen was always encouraging, always very positive in his feedback, always giving things to work on during the week, and setting attainable goals, but goals that required work. Stephen helped her to gain confidence and keep confidence in herself. Her high school coach tends to be more critical and tears down players so it often was hard to stay positive, Stephen helped her to realize her talents! My daughter always looked forward to training sessions with Stephen!

Great experience. We've only had 1 lesson at this point but plan on many more.

Coach Stephen has been great with my daughter. He has been able to get her focused on a lot of different skills that no of her previous coaches have been able to do. We would highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking for a trainer.

Took my little girl to Stephen to work on footwork and power and it was a great experience for her. She loved the workouts and loved working with him. We did 5 sessions and she is kicking with much more power with both legs and has improved her footwork and skills. Every session had new drills and she loved them all. He gave us homework to do that we will continue to do with her. He also made her feel better about the number of times it takes to shoot and score and to get to a certain level in the skills we were working on. I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone who wants to step up their game.
Hey Stephen Thought I’d let you know that Cassie will accept an offer to play at Western Wyoming Community College next year. The coach likes her and they went to the NJCAA tournament last year in Iowa so they have a pretty good team. Thanks for all your help in preparing Cassie for the next level! Hope you and your family are well and had a great holiday! Happy new year! Martin
Coach Blake is one of my favorite soccer trainers I have worked with (and i have worked with a lot). He is very positive and fun and makes soccer even more enjoyable especially in the morning. he always asks me for my input and if I have anything in particular I want to work on. He sends videos before or after training on techniques I can work on to up my game or improve my knowledge of the sport. He helped me find my weaknesses and through repetition of drills, made them strengths. I enjoyed my time working with him and wish I started sooner.

We did 5 sessions and she is kicking with much more power with both legs and has improved her footwork and skills. Ever session had new drills and she loved them all. Stephen has been so great for my 15 year old son. My son wanted to improve his skills and Stephen has helped him do that in a few weeks. He also makes speed training and conditioning fun. My son loon looks forward to his trainings and learning new skills. Along with these his confidence is growing
My 15 year old daughter has had two sessions with Coach Stephen. He has been amazing!! Asha has had trainers in the past and there is no comparing those trainers with Coach Stephen. He has a clear outline of what skills need to be taught and how to improve her as an "individual". His lesson plans are made to fit her and what she best needs. He has touched on skills that have never been introduced to her before. I feel like we have finally found that "gem" that we have been looking for! Not only is he a great trainer, but he appears to be a great individual with a great sense of humor as well! He makes training fun. Our plans are to definitely continue with Coach Stephen!
We have known Stephen Blake for over a year now. He has been working with our daughter who is involved in high level soccer competition in Utah (playing P1 and now entering the Development Academy). Our daughter was initially nervous to start private training but willing to give it a try. She was immediately drawn to Stephen Blake's calm, engaging and fun training sessions! She looks forward to seeing him and working hard in their sessions. We noticed a difference in our daughters defensive play after a few sessions. We didn't announce she was getting private training but at a game (with her team) we had three different sets of parents remark how our Gabby had "stepped it up" and were impressed. Stephen makes each session fun and competitive. He is reliable and is a great communicator. Stephen not only does a wonderful job during the session, he takes time to send us interesting soccer articles and gives out soccer "homework" at times for Gabby. He is accommodating with our schedule. He works hard to individualize each session. I am astounded as he narrows a session down and discovers areas where Gabby needs improvement. It's like a physician narrowing down a diagnosis and he pinpoints it (like breaking down a slide tackle). We are extremely grateful for our time with a Stephen and are looking forward to many more training sessions. It is a pleasure to know him. I highly recommend Stephen Blake. Thank you, Heather
Stephen started working with our daughter after she missed making the High School JV team as a freshman. Her speed, agility and overall soccer skills have greatly improved in the past two years. He worked with her to set goals for herself and over the next year she made the ODP team, moved up to a Premier 1 club team and made the high school JV team her sophomore year. He instills confidence, listens to their concerns and is very involved in seeing that his lessons are put to the test. He has attended many of my daughter’s soccer games to score her on what she was taught. She is now mulling over the possibility of playing soccer in college. Stephen’s help has been invaluable in getting my daughter to a place where she has many options.
I really enjoyed watching James play in his first ever soccer season, and you did a great job as coach. I liked the way you kept the practices and games organized but also fun. You challenged James to practice core skills, and I liked that you taught them how to pass and score a goal.
To whom it may concern. My son had the privilege of being trained by coach Blake this season. He has been an extremely attentive coach taking one on one with my son. I've seen a huge difference in my son this year from last. Not because of the year but because of the coach Blake's encouragement. I'm extremely glad that he's our coach.Thank you
It was my privilege to supervise Stephen Blake when he served for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Sacramento Mission. Stephen achieved his goals and set a high standard of excellence in every aspect of his personal life and missionary work. He was always obedient and showed a high level of commitment, sacrifice and dedication. Stephen’s behavior was always of the highest level of integrity and he demonstrated the ability to work very hard day in and day out consistently performing at a very high level. I was especially impressed with Elder Blake when I gave him a very difficult assignment to help a struggling missionary. Within 30 days, Stephen and his companion were the top baptizing missionaries in the entire mission. They continued to lead the mission for six months. Because of Stephen’s influence his companion’s effectiveness and skills were expanded beyond any expectation this young man had previously envisioned. It was Stephen’s ability to motivate, teach, inspire and model positive and effective skills and an approach to success that changed the once struggling missionary to a young man of vision, aptitude and desire to succeed. As a district and zone leader Stephen was very successful in fulfilling his leadership responsibilities. Only the most trusted and capable young men are assigned these important positions. He is able to relate to and motivate individuals from many different backgrounds. His ability to create a strategy and implement and see his plan through to completion was a great asset to our work in Sacramento. I am confident that the skills, traits and character required to serve as a successful missionary translate well to the field of athletic coaching. I personally experienced Stephen Blake’s ability to excel and overcome challenging and difficult circumstances through hard work, focus, desire, positive mental attitude and sheer determination. In my estimation, Stephen is one of the finest young men with whom I have worked in my ecclesiastical positions (400+ missionaries over 3 years) and professionally throughout the last 30 years as a business owner and CEO of several companies. I give him my highest recommendation. I am confident he will work hard and achieve success as a soccer coach, bringing a high level of personal integrity to college athletics.
I would like to recommend Steven Blake as a soccer coach. Based on my experience working with Stephen as coach of my son’s AYSO soccer team, I believe he is a choice candidate for this job. His encouraging words and extra care to tailor each child’s training program to their skill level have impressed me greatly and I believe would translate well into coaching at the collegiate level. Though he can be firm when he needs to be, he always works to find the right method of reaching each player to help them achieve their full potential. He does not hold anyone back from learning and growing, rather he encourages those with stronger skills to help others on the team improve by example. He is a responsible, hardworking individual and very conscientious of his work. His pleasant personality and can-do attitude are integral to his success. He always makes the effort to go the extra mile and encourages teamwork to get the job done.
I am recommending Stephen Blake as a soccer coach. Stephen and his wife, Kamaile, volunteered to coach my son’s American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) soccer team in 2005-2006, which lasted several months. Upon meeting Stephen at the beginning of the season, I immediately noticed the passion he had for the game of soccer. I recognized Stephen when I met him, but had a difficult time pinpointing where we previously met. I soon remembered that I served as bishop’s counselor in his student ward on campus. I vividly recall that same type of passion he had while preparing for his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of Stephen’s greatest attributes is his drive to succeed. Additionally, I believe Stephen would succeed as soccer coach for the following reasons: 1. Knowledge. Stephen knows the game of soccer. He is verse in the rules of the game, and I think more importantly, he has the ability to demonstrate the skills he will be teaching. He also easily adapted to the guidelines pertaining to AYSO rules. 2. Communication. Again, he showed his adaptability by effectively communicating with us as parents and with the kids he coached. Objectives, assignments, rules, and skills were clearly taught to the players as a team and on an individual level. 3. Organization. At AYSO level soccer, the game is more focused on the kids having fun rather than winning. For this reason, the coach needs to be more organized to ensure every player gets the same amount of playing time, plays at various positions, and is treated the same as other players. Stephen accomplished all of these tasks by being organized prior to each game and having a plan in place. He was able to withstand those added pressures from parents as well. I believe Stephen would excel as a soccer coach. He is a product of the University. He is familiar with the challenges students face on this campus. He understands what it takes for a student athlete to succeed on the field and in academics because he went through it. On a personal level, my relationship with Stephen has always been cordial. I have seen how he treats those around him and it has always been with kindness and respect.
April 5, 2007 Fiji Selects Blake Laie, HI-Brigham Young University-Hawaii men's soccer player Stephen Blake has been invited to join the Fijian National Team. Blake, who completed his senior season at BYU-Hawaii this past fall is expected to join the team in time for the Fiji's upcoming match against the Real Salt Lake Reserves on April 18th in Utah. Stephen Blake will play for his country Blake, who was originally recruited to play soccer for the Seasiders before the team dropped men's soccer following the 2000 season, finally got to play for the school when men's soccer was added again this past year. He served as one of the team captains this past season and was a standout player for the young team. Fiji Football Association senior vice president Mohammad Yusuf said efforts were being made to draft Blake into the national side for its final fixture. He said Blake will add a lot of experience to the team having played soccer at a higher level. Link to story
