I am a Certified Yoga Instructor, RYT 200, with extensive knowledge and expertise in alignment, safety, anatomy & physiology, and working with your individual needs and/or goals. I trained with some of the most well-respected yoga teachers in the industry, including Coby Kozlowski, Jurian Hughes, Steven Leonard, Stephen Masullo, and more. I also have a background in the fitness world, as I was a manager for Cardio Express.
In high school I ran track, cross country, and was a dancer. Competition with others was never my thing, but I am a type A personality with inexhaustible self-motivation and a desire to help others achieve their goals.
A client can expect a brief consultation/catch-up to determine where they are physically in terms of flexibility, balance, and endurance. Yoga works muscles in different ways than other sports do. My philosophy is to meet my clients where they are. If increasing flexibility is their focus, I will begin with a brief centering, warm-ups to get blood circulating and synovial fluid to lubricate the joints, then move into postures geared toward deep, safe, release of the muscle fibers. Sessions will always end with a cool-down and relaxation (savasana). If for example, increasing upper body strength is the focus, we'll do lots of sun salutations and hold chaturangas (push-ups with the elbows tucked in toward the body), and arm balances. The practice will be tailored to the athlete's individual goals.
