More About Coach Spencer

I have coached young players on every aspect of the game for three years. My coaching experiences include private lessons, and guest coaching for multiple travel ball organizations.

I have played baseball at the collegiate level for The University of North Carolina and at the professional level in the St. Louis Cardinals Organization.

Baseball consulting. Baseball is a long journey filled with many good days and bad days. I not only teach the skills needed in order to succeed but the mindsets and approaches as well. In each 30 minute session we discuss what your doing well, what your struggling with, and what is needed to focus on for future success. I have helped countless young players develop off speed pitches, get out of slumps, get stronger in the weight room, achieve good arm action/throwing mechanics, and much more. I do this through quick tips/adjustments, mental coaching, and a heavy focus on approach both on the mound and at the plate. Let me be your personal baseball consultant.

Facing Spencer was always really tough. He is one of the most competitive athletes I have ever played with. His fastball could reach the mid 90's with some 2-seam run. He also throws a good splitter that was tough to pick up. He has a really short and quick arm action which threw your timing off. Overall, you knew you were in for a tough at bat against Spencer because he was always in attack mode.
It was a tremendous asset to our players and coaches to have Spencer Trayner as a special assistant coach with the Carolina Thunder. Spencer brings experiential knowledge of the game from playing at the highest level and is able to immediately connect with players at differing developmental stages.
