More About Coach Sophie

2 years coaching high school level dance teams. I've coached at the varsity and junior varsity levels. I've coached at Sandburg High School in Illinois, and I was called back to choreograph for my high school's junior varsity team and consistently placed first at regional and conference competitions. I can work with any age group.

I made my varsity dance team at my high school my freshman year. I was captain not only my varsity team senior year but also the dance club at my high school. I've gotten to dance with the Rockettes in New Year as a sophomore in high school. I am currently apart of a dance company here in Nashville. I've competed mainly in Illinois, but have competed at various national conventions with my studio's performance company. My team placed 8th in the state my junior year of high school, and I was awarded all-conference my senior year.

They can expect a full body warm-up with technique across the floor and center to get the athletes into shape, then move on to whatever needs cleaning, and end with some conditioning and a cool down. I mainly focus on dance technique and cleaning/prepping routines for competition. For the warm-up, I would start with isolations of the body to warm-up specific muscles, then I would move on to warming up the legs and hips while incorporating strengthening exercises. Then, I would move on to technique acorss the floor and center. Once they are properly warmed up, we'd move on to working on the routine.
