More About Coach Shay
I have had the pleasure of working as a skills instructor and a coach with a wide variety of athletes. I have the most experience working with youth hockey players from all different skill levels.
I currently play professionally in the PWHL for the Boston Fleet. Before joining the league, I played in Sweden’s top professional women’s league, the SDHL, with Leksand IF. Prior to my professional career, I competed at the NCAA Division I level, first at Brown University and later at Quinnipiac University. Over the course of my collegiate career, I was honored with the Most Valuable Player award four times.
Every session with me will be different and directly tailored to the needs of the player. I really want to create an environment where I collaborate with the player to work on elements of their game that they feel they struggle with. I like to have a consultation with the player prior to a session so we can discuss skill development and goal setting before creating a comprehensive session plan. These areas could include skating, shooting, passing, game-scenarios, etc.
