Coach Shawn is wonderful! I grew up playing tennis but put my racquet down for over a decade; needless to say, I was very nervous about starting up again. Shawn put me at ease from the start. He had me returning forehands and backhands within the first 15 minutes of the lesson, which was no small feat. Most importantly, Shawn was fun. He picked up on my quirky personality very quickly and adapted accordingly, which made the hour fly by. I've been raving about him to my friends and couldn't be more satisfied with my lesson. If you're on the fence, book a session! You won't regret it.

Coach Shawn is a friendly, relaxed and patient instructor. My husband and I enjoyed our first lesson with him and was impressed with his knowledge and expertise. He was easy to talk to, and was consistent in his instruction. His comments during the lesson were helpful and he always provided adjustment recommendations with clarity. We enjoy our session so much that we decided to continue our lessons with him. If you are looking for someone who is patient, and takes his time than Coach Shawn is your person. My experience with Coach Shawn Cummings was phenomenal. It wasn't just because he is a amazing coach but also because he was understanding and always ready to help you with your life on and off the court. He isn't just a coach for me he is a mentor and someone I can look up to or go to for help if I had a problem. There isn't any coach I could name with the kindness and passion for teaching as him.
I had the pleasure of working with Shawn. We used to work at a tennis club with 16 locations and I can honestly say that he was one of the most organized coaches I worked with. I admired his natural drill progression implemented into his weekly program. With this being said, it does not surprise me that he won the Coach of the year award.
Coach Shawn is an amazing coach! I started working with him when I was cut from my high school team my sophomore year. By the end of my time in high school I was playing on the varsity team there with some of the top players in DC MD and VA. I am going to play one of the top spots for a division 3 college team. Coach Shawn does not just teach you technique but teaches you the techniques and strokes needed but how to win mentally and to keep a good attitude on the court.
