More About Coach Shannon

I have over 6 years of experience coaching and training clients. I have coached all levels - from young children to 60+ years old with all sorts of athletic or non athletic backgrounds.
I typically work with clients in the late teens to early 30s range.
I have a Doctorate of Chiropractic with a specialization in rehab and sports performance.
I am a Level 1 coach with USA Field Hockey.

I played for the Syracuse University Division 1 field hockey team. 2008 Final Four Finalist, 2008, 2009, 2011 Big East Finalists.
I have continued my athletic passion through various forms of fitness - running half marathons/ marathons, cycling, CrossFit, and weight lifting (barbell, olympic lifts, kettlebells).

A typical session with me will consist first and foremost getting your baseline. What is your weakest link? What are you most comfortable doing?
Typically, a session begins with some basic breath work and core stability training to prepare the body for more complex movement.
I find for many of us, we do not need a ton of tools or weights to get a solid workout. Using our body weight and mild/moderate resistance can be challenging in its own right. Some use of kettlebells, bands, and light weights will most likely be included.
I really am passionate about creating balance and challenging our balance through a session. If one cannot weight bear on one leg, how can we expected to walk or even run efficiently?
Sessions are very individualized based upon someones goals and capabilities.
