More About Coach Sean

I was a leader on a collegiate team, often giving training advice to the younger athletes. I have helped my old teammate, a high school coach with his team, and I have helped work youth camps with middle and grade school aged athletes.

I ran track and cross country for Florida State University, running 30:50 for 10k, earning 3 varsity letters and was named an Atlantic Coast Conference performer of the week. I also earned academic awards for having the highest GPA on the team (FSU's Golden Torch Award). I walked onto the team originally and was not highly recruited out of high school. I had a respectable career because I was willing to make myself a student of the sport and put in the necessary work to excel.

Injury history would be my first consideration: the perfect training for a given event may be ineffective if that training model is exactly what leads to that athlete's injury. I would allow my session to be very individualized depending on the athletes training history, considering what distance they are preparing for and what their goals are. A beginning marathon runner's program might be simple while an advanced 800m runner will need a more complicated periodization scheme. Some athletes may benefit greatly from strength work while it might be a waste of energy for others.

Client Reviews

Being a collegiate runner (xc and track, 800m) fresh from graduation I decided to put on a youth running camp summer of 2014 for kids ages 8-15. Knowing Sean Quinn since childhood and seeing his progression over the years, I inquired for his input for structure and periodization. After several conversations about training theory and philosophy lasting hours at a time, I was humbled by his knowledge and passion for the sport. Over two years after graduating from college I decided to train in an attempt to achieve a collegiate level fitness again. Within a mere 6 weeks of training with him (weight training and 1500-5000 pacing) I had reached a level of running that took me years to achieve before! If only I had the guidance and structure like I did in my brief stint with him, my collegiate career may have been even more successful.
I can’t recommend Sean enough. He is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your progress. Not only did Sean design a training program to fit my experience and goals, but also worked to hone my form. Being an avid runner in high school, I had a good base of knowledge but still learned a tremendous amount from Sean. Sean’s knowledge does not stop at purely running; he helped improve my overall strength by recommending lifting routines and dietary guidelines that complimented my running program. I saw tremendous improvements in my cardio and felt overall better in my daily life. I could not be happier with the results and would recommend Sean to anyone and everyone.
