More About Coach Sean

RRCA Certified Running Coach since 2008. I've been training runners for many different goals from completing a 1.5 mile run for ICE (Fed. Dept) job candidate to Boston marathon qualifying. Personally I've been an avid runner for 15+ years and have run 25+ marathons and 1 Ironman. I still train hard and usually win age group awards in and around Atlanta (I push myself still unlike other running coaches...)

Typically I meet with my clients to discuss goals (in person or over phone) and recent performances. Then we'll meet for a track session or on the road for an assessment of both form and fitness. Afterward I develop your training plan in 4 week sessions and meet weekly to go over progress.

I focus on the many minor improvements that add up to making a runner more efficient while maximizing performance. From proper breathing to foot falls per minute. Typically I won't overhaul a runner but make what you have work better for you.

PR's:
800m - 2:02 (in high school)
1 mile - 4:59 (at age 41)
5K - 17:28
10K - 36:36
Half marathon - 1:24
Marathon - 3:01
Ironman - 11:24 (Florida)

General: Assess current fitness, discuss goals, create training plan. Specific: evaluate running form, discover favorite work-outs, cross training.

Coach Sean created a plan for me that helped me increase my mileage and speed at a safe but steady pace so that I wouldn't re-injure my knees. His training gave me the confidence I needed to do something I never imagined I could do. I trusted my training, so I trusted myself to succeed. In general, I would tell friends that having a running coach keeps you accountable and motivated, and will give you confidence in spades on race day. Regarding Coach Sean specifically, I would tell a friend about his seemingly limitless knowledge. It's extremely apparent how much Coach Sean enjoys learning about the science and strategy behind running and sharing that information with others. My knowledge base has increased along with my physical ability. He also has an uncanny knack for scheduling workouts that are challenging and exciting without completely kicking your butt. Plus, he's fun!
