More About Coach Scott
Prior to joining Athletic Evolution, Scott led the Assumption College Football summer strength and conditioning program after completing three diverse internships. His internships included a private training facility, his Alma Mater, UMass, working with the basketball, hockey, lacrosse and football teams, and a stint at Sports and Physical Therapy Associates experiencing rehab procedures and protocols for athletes. A former captain of Hudson High School’s football and ice hockey teams, Scott graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Kinesiology. During his college years, Scott was a member of the UMass Amherst football team and earned the UMass special teams “Player of the Year” in 2010 while starting at fullback.
Scott’s passion for strength and conditioning stems from years of pushing himself to attain his own athletic goals. He is dedicated to helping young, driven athletes accomplish their own athletic goals. Scott has worked with every type of athlete from Youth to the Pros, as well as adults. He prides himself on being able to adapt each workout to the individual needs and goals of each client. Scott also assists with the NFL and NBA combine programs each winter and spring that has seen over 14 athletes sign NFL contracts and 2 athletes get drafted.
Scott is also heavily involved with injury prevention and rehab of the athletes at Athletic Evolution. He takes pride in helping athletes come back from major injuries stronger and better than before. In 2014 he formed a partnership between AE and the Micheli Center for Injury Prevention (division of Children’s hospital). Over the past 3 years Scott has helped over 25 athletes return to their sport following ACL surgery. Scott is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.
In High School I had 12 total letters in football, hockey, and track winning 7 League Championships combined. In football I was a 4 year starter, League MVP, 3-time Thanksgiving Game MVP, and 2-time Daily News All-Star. I captained both the hockey and football teams my senior year before moving on to Worcester Academy where I continued to play football and ice hockey. After prep school I would go on to UMass-Amherst where I would letter 3 years for the football team starting at fullback while playing both running back and linebacker at times. My senior year I was awarded the Special Teams Player of the Year.
Clients can expect a scientifically proven, results-based program focused on the individual needs and goals of each client. No program is the same as each program is designed specifically for each individual. When a client starts with me they will sit down and tell me their goals. I will then evaluate them to determine their needs and limitations as an athlete (i.e. past injuries and/or movement deficiencies/imbalances). I will then design a program based on the results specifically for them.
My background allows me to work with a wide variety of clients who are looking for a variety of goals ranging from linear speed development to power and strength development to general strength and conditioning. I am proficient in Olympic Lifting and will build in Olympic lifts when the program calls for it. I have over 20 years of experience with complex lifts such as squat variations and deadlifts. I always make sure each athlete and client perfect each lift first so they are doing each movement safe and effectively.
I also have a background in rehabbing athletes and will take athletes post-physical therapy and build them back to their sports. In the past 3 years I have worked with over 30 athletes coming back from ACL surgery. Whatever goals you have in Strength and Conditioning, I am confident I can help you obtain them.
