More About Coach Sarah
I served as the Commissioner for the St. Mary’s Youth Lacrosse Club girls’ program, where I was responsible for organizing teams, coordinating schedules, and supporting the overall development of the program. In addition to my leadership role, I coached youth girls’ lacrosse teams, focusing on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and player confidence.
I competed at the collegiate level as a Division I lacrosse player at Towson University, where I was a member of three Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship teams and had the opportunity to compete at the highest level of NCAA women’s lacrosse.
Prior to college, I played at South River High School and was a member of the 2010 State Championship team—the first state championship in the school’s history. Being part of that team was a significant accomplishment and helped shape my competitive mindset and leadership skills.
My experiences competing in championship environments at both the high school and collegiate levels taught me the importance of discipline, teamwork, resilience, and preparation—lessons I now strive to pass on to the athletes I coach and mentor.
Sessions usually begin with a dynamic warm-up and footwork exercises to improve athleticism, coordination, and movement efficiency. From there, I incorporate position-specific stick work, passing and catching drills, shooting mechanics, dodging techniques, defensive footwork, or draw controls depending on the athlete’s needs.
I believe repetition with purpose is key, so I focus on proper technique while creating game-like situations that challenge players to make decisions under pressure. Throughout the session, I provide constant feedback and make adjustments to help athletes improve quickly.
I am BIG on the mental side of the game—confidence, competitiveness, and work ethic. My goal is not only to help athletes become better lacrosse players but to develop the habits and mindset that lead to success both on and off the field.
