More About Coach Sam
In regards to coaching and training athletes I have minimal experience. I have been ACE certified for about 1 year, and my hope is that I can gain experience training athletes. My expertise is helping those who want to change their lifestyle and become more active. With that being said, I am open and willing to train people of all age groups. Something unique about me is that I am the owner of my own gym, which allows clients to have an intimate experience - and utilize gym equipment that is not found in commercial gyms like 24 hour or LA Fitness.
My experience for training and coaching athletes comes from my own experiences with different sports. I have played golf, basketball, football, all at the high school level. I have won awards from my high school career like freshman golfer of the year, JV offensive player of the year (football), and was my basketball team’s leading scorer. Although I have not played at collegiate or professional levels, I am confident that I can make a difference with the training of athletes who want strength and conditioning for whatever sport they are playing.
A typical session with me depends on an athlete's goals. I focus on specific techniques to activate type 2 muscle fibers. I create strength and conditioning programs that are specific for the athlete. Sessions are 1 hour long, and involve push days, pull days, and leg days. Rep schemes to stimulate the central nervous system allows an athlete to push harder and lift heavier weights. I manipulate different repetition schemes, rest periods, and weight to maximize the session. This allows the athlete to be exposed to change and not have a stagnant routine.
