More About Coach Ryan
Currently an assistant coach at Cameron University. Head Coach of the Champion City Kings (collegiate travel team/Prospect League). Previously the assistant coach at Eastfield College and the University of Texas at Dallas.
I was a 3 year All-State Catcher in High School at Dallas Christian School in Mesquite. State Championship in 2007. Area Code All American in 2009. Set a school and District record for Batting Average in a year hitting .620 throughout the season. Played college ball at McMurry University and The University of Texas at Dallas. All-Conference Catcher (2015), and All-Tournament Catcher (2015).
A client can expect to work hard and have fun throughout a session. Position players do Circuit Training to help improve reaction time, strength, and speed during a game situation, as well as game-like situational training. Hitters progress through a variety of different drills including but not limited to tee work, bare-hand drills, heavy/light bat drills, soft toss, front toss, and live BP. I have molded my hitting philosophy from my teachers when I was young, and also my personal experience.

Coach Ryan is great! We have had a few sessions with him so far and my son thinks he is a amazing! He's very honest and open and we are looking forward to continue training with him!
Elizabeth (CoachUp client)
We loved how he started right on time (and ended right on time). He was personal and engaging. The hour seemed to fly by, and it was a great workout!
Terry (CoachUp client)
Coach Ryan seemed to show interest in Kage and willing to sharpen his hitting skills.

Great insight
Bedside manner is awesome
Will keep going
Max (CoachUp client)
Great coach and great guy. My kid is playing high school varsity so we did not want to overhaul his swing. Coach Ryan saw that my kid was casting some of the time so he made some small tweaks the really helped my kid keep his hands inside the ball every swing.

Coach Ryan is a great coach. This is exactly what I was looking for in order to help my son get ready for High School Baseball. Can't wait to see the improvement by the end of summer!

Coach Downs Unfortunately, we have not had the opportunity to meet in person, but I am Ryan’s dad. Sarah and I just wanted to take a quick moment to say how much we appreciate your efforts in working with Ryan. He shared with me a little conversation you both had back when you coached his MSL this past summer when he was frustrated with himself and his play and I told him you sounded like a great coach. At that time he said you offered to work with him and I said, then what you are waiting for son?? J Since Ryan plays football in the Fall (whereas all but 4 of his Jesuit teammates stick only to baseball in the fall), he has had to kick it into high gear to get his game back on track to where he is capable of playing. I have been particularly impressed with the intensity, quality, and diversity of your teaching regimen including the use of video technology which allows him to actually SEE what he’s doing. You have done wonders for his strength, focus, skill development, and most importantly his confidence and we wanted to make sure you knew how much we value and appreciate all you have helped him with thus far. Jesuit just started spring tryouts. It will be about 2 weeks before they make final cuts. While Ryan is feeling good and working hard, he’s anxious. As you can imagine, Coach Brian Jones has no shortage of talent to pick from. He’s hoping Coach Jones, Gavin and Pointer are aware of how hard he has worked and is willing to work to make up for lost time. We hope you can continue to make yourself available for Ryan throughout (and hopefully beyond). One last thing. To the extent you can share and challenge Ryan to remain aware of and focused on some of the mental aspects of the game (especially being a catcher as you well know) and give him any tips and reminders about what coaches are looking and where he might be able to set himself apart outside of pure talent, (i.e., attitude, passion, hustle, vocal leadership as a catcher, etc) – he is much more likely to listen, remember, and apply what you say as opposed to DAD. Thanks again Coach – I look forward to the opportunity to meet you personally and appreciate anything you can do to continue to help Ryan.
