More About Coach Ron

I’m currently the pitching coach at Pacifica High School and also a travel ball coach. I have helped out with recreation teams as well. I give private lessons to ages 9-20 and enjoy all ages.

I played high school baseball at Kennedy. My colleges include Long Beach State, Cypress College, and Oral Roberts. I got drafted twice as a pitcher and played 3 years of professional baseball. Due to injuries I had to retire earlier than I wanted.

First couple sessions I like to teach the player how to prepare before playing catch and then how to play catch properly (stretch and bands). After playing catch I talk and try to figure out their main concerns. I teach them drills along the way on what I think they need to improve on. Throw off the mound while verbalizing and showing them how to do what I am asking. Communicate and make sure we are both on the same page. The mental part of pitching is the most important. No session is the same because everyone’s body is different and how they learn.

Client Reviews

Coach Ron has helped my son understand pitching. He gave him advice that worked with his natural body mechanics. His ability to communicate complex pitching concepts into 12 year boy language is outstanding. My son had persistent pain in elbow region after every time he pitched. Coach Ball corrected his pitching motion and quickly diagnosed the probable reason for the pain. Hasn't been back since. Really cool and caring man that I would highly recommend for any player that wants to improve! Thanks Coach Ball! Brian

Amazing, Coach takes his time with little ones my son enjoyed working with him. We will be back.
