I work well with high school athletes. The high school (Damien High School, La Verne CA) I attended did not have coaches that had the formal training nor experience as former athletes to train me and my fellow teammates. Despite not having a formal coach to train me in the high jump and hurdles, I was able to join the varsity team at the start of my Sophomore year and qualify for the CIF Southern Section from my Sophomore through Senior year. From my Sophomore year through my Senior year in high school, much of my training and the training that my fellow teammates in the high hurdles and high jump were through me.
Prior to my departure from the US Army in 2006, I trained High School track athletes on the base. Although there was a coach, her expertise was limited to only distance running. The vast majority of them ran the 400M and below as well as jumps. In a matter of 4 weeks, I was able to discipline the team's training and improve their overall marks .
Instilling discipline and positive motivation must come first. Without the two, no amount of training will improve or help any athlete.

Sessions will depend on the time of the year I am inserted for assisting the athlete:

Pre to Early Season: Warm-up run, Extensive Stretching (min 30-45 mins), Grass Drills, Plyometrics, Core Strengthening, Hill and Endurance Conditioning.

Mid-Season/Early Competition: Warm-up run, Extensive Stretching (30-45 mins), 50% Reduced Plyometrics, Grass Drills, 40% Reduced Endurance Conditioning, Technique Tuning.

Mid-Late Competition: Warm-up run, Extensive Stretching (30-45 mins), Grass Drills, 70% Reduced Endurance Conditioning, Technique Tuning.

I would need to review any and all potential clients before I accept. Although the client may not turn out to be an Olympic Runner/Jumper, I want to ensure that the client is realistic and dedicated.
