More About Coach Rob

I am excited to help develop local talent as I have now returned back to the Boston area after coaching at the highest level of high school baseball in Virginia and North Carolina. My coaching resume includes stops at St. Anne's Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia working as a bench coach before accepting a job with the nationally ranked TC Roberson Rams in Asheville, NC. I currently serve as the lead assistant for Westwood's Post 320 American Legion team.

I have a proven track record of coaching baseball players of all abilities and levels from beginners to High-School All Americans. I have coached many Division 1 players who are or were student-athletes at places like South Carolina, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Columbia, High Point, James Madison, UNC-Asheville, Tennessee, and Northwestern. I have also worked with many Division II and III players that went on to play at Stonehill, Amherst, Colby, Bowdoin, and the University of Chicago. Four of my former players have been named High School All Americans and 1 was selected in the first round of the 2013 MLB First Year Player Draft.

All of my sessions will include the same drill work that I would do with any All-American, but tailored to the specific athlete and what he or she wants to accomplish. I am also a very big proponent of using video feedback to improve fundamentals and maximize an athlete's skill set.

-Member of Babson's 2008 NEWMAC Regular Season Championship Team
-Member of Babson's 2009 NEWMAC Tournament Championship team that participated in the 2009 NCAA Tournament

-Virginia High School Division 1 State Semi-Finalist
-North Carolina 4A State Semi-Finalist
-Invited to participate in the 2013 USA Baseball Invitational for top 16 high school teams in the country

A one hour sessions will typically include:

- Dynamic warm up involving short plyometric and yoga inspired movements to get legs and core engaged
- Position specific throwing with player
- Front toss to get player accustomed to see ball of bat and to diagnose specific areas to work on
- Tee work focusing on areas identified during front toss
- Live batting practice to incorporate instruction received during front toss and tee work
- Either conditioning and/or position specific work

Of course, sessions will be planned in conjunction with what player wants to work on or has been previously working on. More or less time will be spent on certain drill work or areas on certain days based on what the player needs to or wants to work on.

Today my son and his friend shared a lesson with Coach Rob- he was so patient and kind. He really helped the boys understand the basics and helped them understand the fundamentals! My son is excited for his next lesson!

My son really enjoyed his 1st session with Rob! My husband also thought Robs advice about what he wants to improve on with our son was spot on. Can't wait for more sessions

Coach rob was terrific with my son (9 years old). Great way with kids and explains hitting in very easy to understand terms. Will be sure to keep using him.

My son really enjoyed his first session and is looking forward to more individual coaching.

Rob's a great coach, my 13 year old has learned as much about hitting and throwing in two sessions as he has in his previous 6 years playing baseball. Rob has a calm relaxed style that puts the athlete and parent at ease. My son can't wait to learn more and he can't wait to use what he has learned in a game this Spring!

One session into our training with Rob, my son was excited about his potential and looking forward to getting better.

EXCELLENT!!! Sooo Pleased. Rob knows how to communicate and get through to an eight year old. That's an awesome accomplishment.

My son had a great session with Coach Rob last weekend! He was able to break down his swing and work with him to get more power into it. We are looking forward to working with him again.

In the 7 or so sessions that Max has worked with Rob, I have definitely seen the impact in Max's hitting. We will continue to use Rob moving forward.

Coach Rob and Coach Mike are excellent. The kids were engaged for over 90 minutes, learned a lot, and had fun. Best of all, they want to do it again. Great job Coach Rob. 5 stars.

Very impressed. Coach Rob is training my 10 yr old. His ability to break bad habits that I have been trying to break for 3 years was Amazing. My sons confidence is already up after just 1 session! He can't wait to continue!

After just one session, my son was very pleased with the improvement to his game. I love the feedback that Coach Rob sent after the session. Highly recommended!!

Coach Rob did an excellent job with my son! He fixed his swing with the 1st session! My son felt very comfortable working with him and I will definitely be using Coach Rob for more sessions.

Coach Rob was great! My son got a ton out of his session and Rob gave him a lot of drills and ideas for practice at home. My son said he felt much better about tryouts after meeting with Coach Rob and developed a lot of confidence in his play. Coach Rob worked him hard but in a very positive and he gave him a lot of detailed feedback. We will definitely schedule more sessions!

Coach Rob was a great coach, after one lesson I felt like I had grasped a better understanding of how to improve my swing in a way that was comprehensive and feasible. He was very approachable and quickly analyzed my strengths and weaknesses and moved on from there to let me know how I can improve. I will definitely book more lessons.

We have only had one session, but I can say that I am very impressed with Coach Rob's style, and his attention to detail. My son is encouraged with what he has picked up - which is what I was looking for.

Rob has been working with my 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Both have improved dramatically over the course of five lessons. Rob does a great job of giving the kids specific direction that has helped them get better. The drills he puts the kids through are both varied and fun. He also is very encouraging, and his feedback after each session is a great way to cement the kids' learning. Highly recommended!!

Coach Rob is an all around skill developer for young kids. My son is benefiting greatly in strength training, hitting and pitching. His take home video is a great idea for the kids to practice at home later. I would highly recommend coach Rob.

Terrific coach. We purchased the training session with Rob for our nephew who really enjoyed the lesson and learned a lot. He has already asked for another coaching session!

Coach rob, the best coach I have every seen he taught me a lot and I can't wait for more sessions in the future

I knew Rob was young so I was a little concerned with his experience. When my son & 1 first met Rob for his 1st. lesson he displayed a confidence that only comes from knowing the subject matter of hitting. My son & he immediately develop a rapport & it was not long into the session that Rob had a good handle on my son's strengths & weakness. He later put together a video of my son's swing & made a point by point comparison using Mike Trout's swing as an example. More importantly, my son & I finally saw just what it was in his swing that need work. Rob hit it out of the park & I booked 5 more sessions. We are looking forward to each & everyone of them. Great job Rob!!

Coach Rob is a great coach, one of the best that I've ever been able to work with. Coach Rob is extremely knowledgeable and not only works you physically but mentally as well which is just as important. If I had to do it all over again I would choose Coach Rob 100 out of 100 times. He's a great, great coach.

Rob is one of the hardest working young coaches around. It is obvious that he has a tremendous impact on this team's success - the time he spends coaching the boys up during and after the games is critical.
