More About Coach Robert
I have mentored younger athletes while playing high school basketball and have continued to do that post-graduation for my high school
I have taken multiple high schoolers playing at my alma mater under my wing when I see them at the gym and have built good connections locally throughout the community
I work with high school and college talent
I am also an ISSA Certified Elite Trainer where I have a certification as a Personal Trainer and specializations in Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning and Performance Enhancement
I know basketball inside and out and have a well rounded portfolio in terms the knowledge of reaching optimal fitness and basketball artistry
I was a four-year basketball player for my high school where the Varsity Team went to the State Final my freshmen year, State Semi-Final my sophomore year, and won the State Final the year after I graduated, also the JV Team finished 16-4 or better every year while I attended.
My Varsity Head Coach is in my high school’s Hall of Fame and I learned from the best when it comes to High School Coaches. I played basketball at Centennial High School.
I was aspiring to be a Division III basketball player with intentions of becoming an important player in a few years but was limited in my circumstances to really progress.
I took a chance, and left college, but something that attributed to that was I had a bad knee injury for 5+ years stemming from body misalignment that on set before tryouts, and felt that my life future at Salisbury University would not be fulfilling my true purpose in life.
I am healthy now and I am in the beginning stages of getting my body right so I can tryout for the Delaware Blue Coats G-League team in the 2026-2027 season which is the Philadelphia 76ers affiliate.
I have dreams and I love it when people dream too. Let’s do this together!
I believe in text-book shooting form with a high and quick release while getting elevation off the ground
I know how to operate from the triple-threat position to create space and also how to get a step on your defender while only using triple-threat
I enforce strong dribble moves to limit turnovers and also know more advanced moves that can get defenders off balance which will lead to you immediately attacking their weak point to get the advantage
I would stress the importance of moving without the ball as simply being smart and active can get you many easy baskets and make you a headache to try to defend (good thing)
I also believe that plyometrics are incredibly important when it comes to basketball, and I have experience completing workout programs for increasing your vertical
I know drills to increase sprint speed as well and would incorporate that as speed makes the game far more easier the more you have it
Additionally, I know a lot of techniques to get the advantage as the defender which allows you to be in control of the one-on-one matchup versus the opposing offensive player
I also think it’s important to talk about the psychological aspect of the game as I believe confidence, discipline and hard work can turn anyone into a good basketball player

Joshua (CoachUp client)
Robert has great attention to detail, a natural coach’s eye that allows him to address performance gaps, as well as an adaptive coaching pedagogy where participants of all basketball levels can benefit. And the guy can really shoot the basketball!

Christian (CoachUp client)
Robert pays attention to details and he is already helping me with my explosiveness and also with my footwork, he is wise and a great teacher
Nicholas Chen (Testimonial)
Coach Robert not only is an amazing mentor for the game of basketball, but is also an extraordinary person. When I first started with him, I honestly could’ve been mistaken for a person who didn’t even play basketball. However, he pushed me through the hardships and began to shape me into a better player. In just a matter of a couple of months, he has created me into a player who has the ability to thrive on the court. He is truly an amazing coach and I am extremely glad that I was able to start with him!
Grant Rees (Testimonial)
Robert is a life-long friend who I often played ball with growing up through middle and high school. He's a great player and one of the best 3-point shooters I've ever played with. He's also very sociable and is extremely passionate about what he does. For these reasons, I highly recommend his basketball training program for any young player looking to develop his game.
