But if I was blunt about it, good trainers are vital for players development at all levels,
unless, your lucky enough to get more than 8hrs of coaching time a week.

Reality is most AAU only get 2-4 hours to practice a week plus a game with a 5 min warm up. they are only playing to win. not to teach the individual technical skills the kid needs to play.

At which point, if a player can spend an extra hour or two each week with a good trainer, who develops skills at the right level in way that translates to the court, the team coach can focus more on teaching the team offense and defense principals.

Want an easy way to work out who's a good trainer or coach?
Just ask them WHY on any drill they do.

Client Reviews

I contacted Coach Ricky in hopes of getting my child to the next level in basketball. Coach Ricky was excellent. He was professional and maximized the use of practice time. Coach Ricky provided insight and tips to my child, and myself, as a parent of a basketball athlete. Coach Ricky was able to bring out the best in my child's abilities. I noticed a significant improvement after the first session. I highly recommend Coach Ricky.

Ricky was great to work with. He was able to work with my son and daughter seamlessly even though they are at two different age and skill levels.

Ricky did a great job; he took the time to understand what we needed to work on and did a great job working with my 12-year-old daughter in 1 session. I saw great progress

It was a great day with coach Ricky. From the beginning of the session was impressed with how he immediately identified issues with my child’s game and sought to corrected them. He isn’t just a trainer he is a teacher. He was able to relate to my child’s struggles with the game and give her detailed instructions on how to fix them. His drills where very thorough and fun. It wasn’t just learning session it was a also a great work out. I was honestly amazed at how he was able to put everything together for my child so effortlessly having just met her for the first time. He’s very friendly, my child felt very comfortable with him. She didn’t hesitate to ask questions. I was also shocked at quickly and noticiable she looked like a such a better player. I was shocked at how many shots she was able to make after marking the adjustments she was instructed to make. She was literally a different basketball player after her session then she was when when she woke up that morning. He made the session very easy by accommodating our location and was also very quick and responsive when getting in contact with him. For my first time using this app I am very satisfied with his coaching skills.

Ricky has an immense knowledge as well as a strong understanding of the fundamentals of basketball. He also understands how to work on and develop the skills that will make you improve as a player. He is also very kind and is good at clearly explaining all the things I’ve previously mentioned. I’m a person who asks a lot of questions and Ricky is very patient with me. He answers them all without any hesitation. Even after my first session with him I became a better basketball player. I also know where I need to improve and how I can work on it on my own. I will continue to keep working with Ricky and I’m excited to see how much I can improve. 5 out of 5 stars.

Coach Ricky was incredible! The drills, the attention to detail, the work ethic, and technique were so skillfully executed in his lesson with my 13 year old daughter. We will absolutely be booking more sessions with him.

He is great

Coach Ricky was great. He taught me the basics and the fundamentals since I was a beginner and not only left me to do it by myself but also did it with me. Would definitely recommend him because of his creative style of teaching basketball. Can’t wait for the next session.

Good dude. Super knowledgeable.

Awesome coach, very knowledgeable and will push you but will also participate with you knowing that you’re not in this alone. Highly recommend !

Good coach

Coach Ricky really observes and makes training an enjoyable experience tailored to your needs. He's watching everything you're doing and makes his feedback and coaching based off your full mind and body to really help improve your game. Definitely looking forward to more sessions as the first was amazing. Would recommend highly to anyone of any level

We are only on our 2nd session but Coach Ricky has been great so far getting my son acclimated to the game again after coming off an injury that had him out for a year. It's great to see his confidence building again. You can tell coach Ricky has a passion for the game that shows through his coaching.

Coach Ricky is doing a great job with our almost 3 year old son. Extremely patient and makes the session fun each time. Great guy too

I already feel more confident as an athlete and basketball player after just one session with Coach Ricky!! He is very patient and has a great way of explaining things. We covered a lot of different skills in 2 hours and I can't wait to learn even more in our upcoming sessions. Ricky is a 5 start Basketball coach I can easily see my little brother's progress just after two sessions with him. Highly recommended.

Coach Ricky is an amazing coach. After the first session, my 16 year old feels more confident about his game. Coach Ricky gave some great tips on how to build his endurance and how to improve his skills. The session was challenging, but rewarding because my son learned a lot. I recommend Coach Ricky to anyone who wants to take their game to the next level.

I booked an initial session for my 16 years old son - who needs a little bit of training before getting back into his high school basketball team - with Coach Ricky, and he loved it. My son was very impressed by the teaching skills and knowledge that Coach Ricky was able to convey in the two hours they spent together. We are very much looking forward to more sessions with Coach Ricky in the very near future!

I think coach Ricky has everything to help my daughter improve her basketball skills. I am signing up my daughter for more sessions.

Ricky made a positive impression with my boys in the first session. He's very patient but knows when to push them the right way keeping it fun. After two hours, they both told me "I want Ricky to be my coach". He has great knowledge and advice about the game.

Coach Ricky is excellent. He provided my son with very specific, clearly communicated practices to improve his basketball skills.
Ricky brings enthusiasm and expertise.

Very good coach!!

Coach Ricky has been so fantastic in developing my son's basketball skills. He has given us some great shooting and ball handling drills that my son can practice between sessions. He is one of the most patient coaches that we have had and he actually makes the sessions fun and engaging. Although he is not overly intense in the way he approaches teaching, my son still has immense respect for him and listens intently. He also is extremely flexible/reliable in scheduling sessions and great at following up with detailed Session Feedback for us to focus on with our son.

I would recommend Coach Ricky to other moms who want to get their child to the next level in basketball.

I recently joined a men's recreational league and wanted to get into shape. Ricky used a combination of basketball drills with running to push into one of the most satisfying workouts I've had in a number of years. Ricky is highly motivating, non judgmental, and honest. I will be booking more sessions with him. He challenges you to raise your game and I accept that challenge.

Coach Rick is a very old school coach that believes in fundamental principles. When I was a kid growing up in New York City, I stumbled across coach Rick at a ymca. At this time in my life I could shoot the ball but couldn't make a lay up to save my life or have the mental aspect of game. He saw the potential in me and kept working with me. He even introduced me too his former college coach who was a former nba Knicks player. This experience helped me grow as a person and as a basketball player. With some of coach Rick's help I managed to get ranked in the top 100 in NYC and get a scholarship to the University of Maine>
Other coaches and parents of even opposing teams recognize the manner in which I communicate with the youth. They appreciate the energy I bring, and the way I explain, demonstrate and teach the kids to be creators.
