More About Coach Rhys
In the past I have coached at both the College and High School levels for Football. This includes D-I at FIU as a Student-Intern, 2 High Schools in Florida. Ferguson HS in Miami as the Assistant OL Coach and Lake Region HS as the QB/RB/TE Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Following my time there I worked as a Quality Control Coach at CNU (D-III) in VA. I then was the OL Coach at Alfred State College (D-III) in NY. Following that, I became the TE Coach, Assistant Recruiting Coordinator and Director of Football Technologies at ASA Miami (JUCO). Looking currently to help the next generation of football players grow.
For football, I have worked with every position on the offensive side of the ball and the big 4 on Special Teams ( P / K / LS / H ). Collegiately I have worked at the JUCO and NCAA D-III levels with a stop at a NCAA D-I as a student intern coach.
I was a multi-year letterman in Football in High School here in Williamsburg. I won the Senior Male Athletic Leadership award during my senior year. I did not play college football due to a medical disqualification. I was a nationally recognized coach when I lead a speaking session at the American Football Coaches Association Convention this past session in January in San Antonio, Texas.
For Football training sessions, the client can expect a great warm-up followed by position specific drills used at even the professional level.
I have a plan for each position either Offensively or Special Teams wise.
OL will work Stance, Footwork, Hand Placement, Perfect Punch, Blocking.
QBs will work Throw Motion, Coverage Reads, Route Concepts, Footwork, Follow-Ups.
RBs will work Footwork, Cuts, Blocking, Routes.
TEs will work Stance, Footwork, Routes, Blocking, Hand Placement, Cuts.
WRs will work Stance, Footwork, Routes, Route Concepts, Blocking, Cuts.
K/P/LS/H can expect either a K/P session with analysis of each swing of the leg, hip drills, follow-ups. LS/H sessions will go with foundational skills, distance snaps, roll-outs, area coverage and directional snaps and holds.
Weightroom plans will also be given to those who complete a minimum of 6 sessions of at least 1 hour.
