More About Coach Rachel

I am a certified Ultrarunning and Running Coach through the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy. The training I received through UESCA allowed me to put even more knowledge and expertise behind my own experience and motivation to help others. I work with any ages and any levels. I have coached mostly locally where I live in Southwest Florida, but I am looking to expand virtually.

I did not grow up running distance, but I believe this actually defines my coaching approach. I did not begin my running career until I was in college. Since then, I have completed two 100 mile races, finishing in under 30 hours both times, and have spent years running other distances ranging from local 5Ks to 50 mile trail races. I love every distance for different reasons and have an appreciation for every person's motivation in getting out there, as my own motivation has evolved over the years to bring me where I am today. I will be taking on the Leadville 100 run next summer.

With running, it is not a one size fits all approach. I start out by finding out what a client's goals are, whether this be a specific race they are training for, a specific time goal for a distance, or just wanting to find a regular running routine they can maintain. From there, I work on creating weekly mileage and drill plans that work with a client's schedule, i.e. putting their longer runs on days they actually have the time, making sure they have proper recovery times, etc. I ask for feedback each week, and we work together week by week, adjusting where needed to drive them to success.
