More About Coach Paul
My coaching strategy has a mild aggression. I encourage your mistakes if you’re playing hard. Your mistakes don’t need attention right away. Be not afraid of trying things you haven’t tried before. I will always send positive feedback within your effort.
I’ve been a skills trainer for the past five years, operating a successful full-time training business and hosting my own events in Iowa. I’ve led two showcase events and recently launched a high school fall league this past September, which saw great success—over 70 athletes participated, including 28 players with Division I offers, and 9 ranked in the Top 100.
I also organized a Jr. Basketball League for K–3rd grade, where we focused on building foundational skills while keeping the game fun and engaging. My experience ranges from developing young beginners to training athletes who have gone on to compete overseas.
Now, I’m bringing that same energy, structure, and development mindset to Dallas. Let’s get to work!
Cesar Chavez High School. #1 in state for charges taken (#9 in the nation), lost in state championship game. Simpson college men’s basketball for 3 seasons.
Ball Handling, Defense, Shooting, Footwork, Consistency. I always start my sessions out with ball handling. It’s important in this game and it expands your game as an individual. Expect to get better and develop positive habits.

Excellent coach. Makes you work hard but have fun at the same time.
Catherine (CoachUp client)
Coach Paul has done a fantastic job coaching my 12 year old son. My son is learning the fundamentals of basketball and Coach Paul has done a great job laying a strong foundation for basic skills. My son always looks forward to his sessions with Coach Paul.
Regan Kingdom Hoops (Testimonial)
When you and my dad talked about me getting in extra shooting and work before practice, I did NOT want to. I was hating basketball & the last thing I wanted to do was spend another hour in the gym, but you are the reason I found my love for the game again. Not to mention my workout with you were fire and some of my best memories will be when you trained me in the summer.
