More About Coach Patrick
I have coached Soccer for 20 years from my native England to East and West Coast USA. I have coached Premier level teams predominantly in the Pacific NW, where I was also a Technical Director for a Seattle club called Highline Premier FC before spending two years in California (2017-2019). I mostly work in the age ranges from 5-18yrs. I hold a FA Level 1 & Level 2 certificate from the UK as well as USC Level 6 Diploma, National Diploma and Director of Coaching Diploma from USA. Currently based in Miami Beach.
Back in the UK I was part of the Crystal Palace FC youth academy for two years, I also played Semi-Professionally for local clubs such as Cray Wanderers FC and Ashford FC. I have played competitively in the U.S. but mainly for local municipal leagues. My biggest accomplishment has come through working on soccer commercials as a skills choreographer. Through this I have had the chance to work with some of Soccer's top professionals past and present. To name a few; Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Zinedine Zidane, Steven Gerard, Kaka and many more.
My sessions mainly consist of fast footwork coordination and individual ball familiarity. I'm a firm believer that no matter their position, a player must be comfortable with the ball at their feet. Alongside this, I work on striking techniques for long and short passing as well as shooting. Players need to understand the adjustment they need to make in their footing and technique when striking a soccer ball while it moves in certain directions i.e. away from the player (running with/chasing the ball), across the player and towards the player. I provide a range of skill moves to demonstrate and explore with the player to make them more of a threat in attacking 1v1 situations. When doing this, I help the player understand the purpose behind every move and how it gives them the upper hand against a defender rather than to just look fancy. I also explore this feature to help players become more understanding and aware as a defender. If they know what is going through the mind of an attacker, it will enhance their level in defensive 1v1 battles too.
