More About Coach Oscar

I have coach several different sports ranging from flag and tackle football, volleyball, field hockey, track and field, dodge ball, badminton, basketball and softball. I have coached at the elementary, middle school, high school and college level. I was head coach at JV and Varsity levels and Freshman. The age groups vary and I have certificates thru NFHS. My CPR and first aide are up to date.

Varsity Football, basketball, and baseball at John Marshall high school. Played Guard for basketball at Citrus college. Recruited by UNLV for basketball. Played 2b for Citrus college. Drafted by Tampa bay devils in farm system for several years. As a coach, turning a varsity softball program that was 5-51 for a decade and I won 7 games my first year.

First I take several minutes asking an athlete the position they play and athletic background. Few more Q&A to get a better idea of who they are. Then we begin warm up with stretching and light running. In general, I drill on foot work, speed, balance with or without cones. Then I drill with dribbling skills, passing and shooting approaches. Some one on one defensive scenarios. I go over what vision on the court differs with in-game progression. I give encouragement first then critique afterwards. We end session with brief question and answer segment and end session. This can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Pending. Each sport I start the same but go with drills and skills which I believe are in accordance with skill level of individual player.

Client Reviews

Coach Oscar was amazing! If you are looking for a softball hitting coach, who can evaluate a softball player and determine exactly what is the issue, then look no further. On our first session, Coach Oscar was able to communicate with my daughter what no other coaches have ever done . His Iexplanations and concrete examples really brought it home. The hitting drills were fun and enjoyable for a 16U player.

Oscar is a very nice and encouraging trainer who wants his athletes to be comfortable, have fun, and learn!

Oscar is great to work with; he is very knowledgeable and encouraging. He starts with an assessment and the fundamentals so that he can meet the client where they are at. We were able to cover fielding and hitting in a single session. I highly recommend him.

My niece just started and absolutely loves coach Oscar. She is so excited to have him continue to guide her

I had a great initial session with Coach Oscar! He made some great general and surprisingly scientific observations, coaching and drills to improve my swing. It was a very productive session and I look forward to working with him again.

Coach Oscar was great. Thank you so much we can see the difference in only our first session. We are looking forward to scheduling our next session with you.

Coach oscar was very helpful at working with my daughter on her fielding and hitting techniques on her first session. I will defefently request him for more help and I will highly recommend him for anyone trying to pick up on the game of softball

Nice person very patient.

Coach Oscar was great. He was patient and attentive. He truly cares about the improvement of his players. I would recommend him to anyone.

My 11-year old likes him.

Coach Oscar has been great! We've completed 3 sessions and are planning more over the holiday school break in preparation for high school tryouts. Coach is well organized, prepared, and demonstrates a genuine interest in my daughter's development. We are working on all aspects of the game; hitting, fielding, throwing and conditioning. Highly recommended!

Came very VERY prepared with all the equipment, great communication and flexibility, certainly aim to book more sessions.
