More About Coach Nyanga
My first coaching experience was a training basketball camp for ex high school athletes. The next two teams i coached were Middles school girls basketball teams. One in a traditional school and the other was a recreational team. The teams I’ve coached needed to understand the game of basketball and some were trained. Both teams made it to playoffs. It’s very encouraging to see the progress and the athletes see and develop there talent for the game.
I played Basketball at Nazareth regional high school and played at Brooklyn CUNY college in New York. When I first playing organized basketball I was in 10 the grade. Prior to that I played all the time with my boy cousins and there were some tears. I had the experience and the love but needed guidance and the rules. I find a lot of girls in that same situation. The teams I’ve coached needed to understand the game of basketball and some were trained. Both teams made it to playoffs. It’s very encouraging to see the progress and the athletes see and develop their talent for the game.
A typical session with me will start with a 5 minute encouragement because I believe many challenges in sports are not only our physical abilities but our mental state to overcoming obstacles. Then we run and get warmed up. Then we do an assessment of dribbling drills, defensive, free throws, jump shots, passing drills and then work on the weakest. Then play a game to see how the drills play out in a real game.

My son had a great first session with the coach and is looking forward to additional sessions. Coach has been able to communicate well and has been very focused on the development of skills. I would definitely recommend coach for others.
