I provide private running lessons in Chicago, IL. My coaching is based on the principles I learned from my own private coach, chi-running techniques, runners world, and runners in business.

In addition, I spent three years coaching young women's volleyball and basketball for a non-profit organization. I enjoy working with diverse groups of people, but I especially enjoy the challenge of coaching individuals who are overweight, because I may potentially prevent them from diseases that are caused by obesity. My specialties include belly breathing, running form, body sensing, and developing endurance and mental toughness which impacts all areas of all of our lives.

I ran the San Diego Rock n' Roll Full Marathon, Oakland Full Marathon, Las Vegas Rock n' Roll Full Marathon, and Abbott world marathon major-Chicago. Additionally, SF Nike Women's Half Marathon, a virtual Nike Half Marathon all to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, countless local half marathons, and 32K's on my own around the San Francisco Bay Area and Europe, including Germany, France, and Spain.

All of my sessions are custom-designed for the individual. A basic session may include a short conversation and feedback about diet, questions or concerns you may have about running, a dynamic warm-up, a demonstration of your running style, and running drills based on your specific need. After each session, I want my athlete to feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence.

Coach Nichol was great when it came to helping me take a different look at running. I do not particularly enjoy running but I know I need to do it in order to be and stay healthy. Coach Nichol took the time to listen to my reasons why I did not enjoy running and made sure to address my reasons in our session. By the end of my session she helped me to breathe and maintain my running posture in a different way which allowed me to get much more out my running then I have in the past...it was very encouraging to see my progress. Great first session!

Coach Nichol worked with my 12 year old daughter who runs track and x-country. In just one session she was able to give my daughter useful tips to improve her form. We saw results immediately when she took 25 seconds off her 3k PR the very next day. We hope to work with Nichol again in the future.

I am an older person taking up marathon running training. Nichol has focused on proper running technique for efficiency and injury prevention. Following her instruction I've been able to run for miles without pain during or after many miles. She is a patient, methodical and highly disciplined instructor. On the personal side she is energetic and lots of fun. I would highly recommend Nichol to anyone who wants to go beyond their own expectations. Age does NOT matter...you can be a healthy runner and enjoy it!

Coach Nichol has been working with my 11 y.o. daughter for about three months now. My daughter loves to run, did x-country for the first time and now track and field and is an avid runner. Hi Nichol! Thanks for an amazing run! I was beyond apprehensive about the run, especially with it being my longest. And, with me not training like I wanted to. You are a fantastic running coach. You clearly understand your clients and work to bring out their best while helping them reach their goals! I'm looking forward to our next long run!
