More About Coach Nicholas P

I started and still run a summer basketball program in the Hamptons, Hamptons Hoops Academy, and am looking for a few more clients here in Los Angeles while a startup business I moved here for takes longer than anticipated to materialize. In the past, the bread and butter in the Hamptons has been private and small group instruction but over the past three summers we've had several NBA player appearances : Serge Ibaka and Rondae Hollis Jefferson of the NBA champion Toronto Raptors as well as NY Knicks Legend John Starks. Additionally , over the last two summers, we have added a philanthropic angle by partnering with the United Way of Long Island as well as several corporate sponsors including NYC Surgical Associates, TAO Group, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as well as Muzik. Besides raising money on behalf of our charity partners we have also beenn bringing a group of kids that the United Way works with out to the Hamptons for the day on scholarship : Transportation, basketball, lunch, swimming at the beach, bowling, arcade games, mini golf, and swag.

For next summer I'm shooting to do a 3 day camp in the Hamptons ideally with a sleep away component for the scholarship kids in mid to late August as well as a follow up event in Manhattan early September. Eventually the plan is to go to a 5 day camp and also add Los Angeles into the mix.

I grew up in Germany and played high school basketball in East Hampton, NY, after which I attended the University of Washington, Seattle, where I tried out for the Huskies basketball team, training during the summer with several current and former NBA players such as, Nate Robinson, Isiaih Thomas, Quincy Pondexter, Spencer Hawes, Jamaal Crawford, and Brandon Roy just to name a few ...

Lessons usually start with a dynamic warm up consisting of some light strength training and conditioning, followed by ball handling as well as a lot of shooting drills, agility, defense, etc ... Depending on the group size we finish off with game play.

Client Reviews

Great instructor and really gets the kids motivated to improve!! Fast paced so the kids gets the most out of every lesson" !
My two sons trained with Nick for a few summers. Nick helped my older son make his high school team and my younger one make his travel team. My boys enjoyed the training. Their shooting and ball handling improved greatly. They loved one on ones against Nick to finish the lessons. I highly recommend hiring Nick to train your children
