More About Coach MyKeisha
With only 4 years of coaching experience, I've had the pleasure of training over a hundred different athletes at various levels of competition. While my primary experience has been with collegiate and high school athletes, I have some experience coaching middle school and athletes as well. Previous stints that I have served include Alabama State University and Dakmak Performance. I currently am pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy but some other certifications that I have include:
-Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science (2013)
-Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology (2014)
-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association
-Level 1 Sports Performance Coach from USA Weightlifting
I began my collegiate career as a Div I softball player for McNeese State University. Although a shoulder injury cut my softball career short my sophomore year, I managed to attain All Southland Conference honors as a freshman as well as a member of the SLC Comissioner's Honor Roll. To finish my eligibility, I competed for McNeese on the Women's track team. While there I was a 2-time USATAF Academic All-American as well as the team captain.
All of my athletes are programmed on an individual basis based on their specific needs but clients can generally expect a typical session to run as follows:
-Dynamic Warm-Up-(To increase blood flow and mobility)
-Olympic Lifts-(To increase power and explosion)
-Compound Lifts-(To increase overall strength)
-Accessory Lifts-(To further address specific weaknesses)
-Sprint technique/Agility
-Cool Down/Stretching
