Anyone can have armor-plated pecs and steel triceps, elevator cable thighs, barn door back and major guns, combat ready spine, healthy, powerful shoulders and a six-pack from hell. No gym, No diets, No excuses...

Challenging yourself to a new beginning can be a victory in itself! See you on the mat.

A work-out consists of:
+ Warm-Up: Cardio, Stretch
+ Focus: Meditation, Self-Reflection
+ Combat: Self-defense, vital points, and the physics of motion and force
+ Strength Building = Calisthenics or body weight workouts which are more or less 6 "progressive" exercises that can be done almost anywhere and anytime. Who knew that fitness could be so easy? You can kick off your new, healthy lifestyle right from your own living room! With in-home bodyweight exercises, the benefits are endless, easy, and convenient. Of course, there are certainly benefits to use dedicated machines and personal instruction, but who can beat using your couch for your work out and then crashing on it right afterwards? To help with your transition to these everyday exercises, here are some of CoachUp’s favorite bodyweight workouts to incorporate into your in-home training session:

Jumping Jacks -- 30 reps
Squats -- 10 reps (Try split squats for an added challenge!)
Lunges --20 reps, alternating legs
Mountain climbers -- 20 reps
Bridges --30 seconds, rest + repeat x3
Planks -- middle, right, and left, 1 – 30 seconds, rest + repeat
Dips --10 reps
Push-ups --10 reps

Beginners should do three sets of this total bodyweight workout, which basically means progressing from jumping jacks all the way through to push-ups, and then starting over again. It won’t be easy at first, but that’s expected -- over time, your body will get used to the workouts and, eventually, excel at them. Bodyweight exercises are a great way to get a total body workout because they involve many different muscle groups. Additionally, you can always add dumbbells or ankle weights for an added challenge! These workouts are also a great way to improve your core strength, leading to better posture and greater athletic performance.

In-home bodyweight workouts are a great way to add some fitness into your day, even if outdoor conditions are poor or you don’t have access to equipment. It doesn’t require earth-shattering effort or energy, especially after a long day at work. When you spend eight hours at work, then are forced to choose between rest or working out, the choice is often an easy one. But with these exercises, it doesn’t have to be a black or white opportunity.

Here at CoachUp, we believe that self-motivation and personally choosing to live a fit and healthy lifestyle will help you grow in all aspects of your life. By making fitness a part of your daily routine, it will soon become second nature. Who knows, maybe after doing these in-home workouts, you might even become motivated to pursue even more challenging athletic activities. No matter how fit or busy you are, there’s always room and time for improvement when it comes to your health.

Some of my clients seek to be trained in self-defense and to become physically fit others work more on their spiritual or inner confidence using ancient to modern philosophy of the martial arts as a vehicle to self-discovery. Sometimes my lessons include working on a clients academics (I am a home-school math teacher and private tutor too) in conjunction with with their martial arts training as a way to keep the body and mind in synergistic harmony.

You will refine your skills, learn exercises that you can do on your own forever and always for free. You will also learn how to measure and overcome any "life" obstacles and challenges on your journey to a Black-Belt.

Client Reviews

Mr. Nech has opened my eyes and helped me discover a new passion in life. I am not the most physically fit, but I have always been interested in martial arts. Not only is he personable and a caring individual, but he specifically focuses on my current strengths and weaknesses. This helps me improve at a dramatically fast pace by highlighting training that is suited toward my own personal benefit. Humor, fun, and a variety are the most important techniques that Mr. Nech utilizes when working on my own weaknesses. Without the guidance and safety of a proper master, a student could really get hurt. I never get discouraged or feel like giving up during our sessions. Thanks to him I have experienced gains across the board, not only physically, but also through greater discipline, and found a new hobby that I love.

Great coach. Can't wait for his next class. He is very experienced and a good teacher.

Coach Nech you are wonderful, the best!

Coach Nech has been amazing with my son. He's good at what he does and my son always looked forward to his class

Mr. Nech is my favorite private coach so far. He makes it fun while getting me the physical and mental results I've been looking for. I've tried Spin, Yoga and weight lifting and none gave me a stronger core (and the curvy shape I've always struggled with) in a short amount of time. It's like my weekly therapy that I use to de-stress, work out and learn something new. At 5' 2", the self-defense techniques also make me more confident. The facility in Encino is clean and conveniently located on Ventura Blvd. Each lesson is custom-tailored to my needs that session and it's a calm environment that's a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of the gym.

Coach Nech and I worked on mastering the choreography for a movie that I'm working on. I already feel like a better athlete and couldn't be more happy with the results. Gene Nech, has inspired me in so many ways, to always strive to push harder when I train, he is top notch, focused and his knowledge of the martial arts is undeniable. There is no substitute for a great private coach, someone who can really teach you the intricacies of the game, and break down the fundamentals that make all the difference. I highly recommend Gene Nech, he is an excellent choice for any athlete looking to take his or her game to the next level!

I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Gene in a business environment and to study under him in taekwondo. Gene applies his energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. He has adapted his management principles from his MBA studies into his style of teaching martial arts and incorporated his martial arts skills into his work environment. He has a practical ability to inspire and motivate both adults and children. His approach to teaching martial arts provides students with valuable life skills well beyond self-defense techniques. His students learn the important life skills of staying fit. They learn to focus, deal with adversity, explore their capabilities and push their own boundaries. His students appreciate self-discipline, respect and develop great socialization skills. His brand of martial arts builds upon an individual’s ability to gain self-control and improve concentration. His students learn teamwork and good decision making. The benefits of improved self-esteem and increased self-confidence are evident in all who study with him. Over the past eight years Gene has helped me, my daughter and my son earn our black belts and we have all benefited from and enjoyed our time with him.
Master Nech is an amazing Taekwondo instructor. I have been taking private lessons with him for 3 months now. He has thought me self defense, stretch workout techniques to do at home, and so many unique Taekwondo moves to get in better shape. I recommend him to all.
I’ve had the pleasure of training with Mr. Gene Nech at Tony Yoo’s Los Angeles TaeKwonDo Center for about 10 years. His dedication to the principles of TaeKwonDo, attention to detail and ability to skillfully demonstrate techniques of all levels make him an exceptional example for his teammates and his students. Mr. Nech is a spirited and knowledgeable instructor who applies an appropriate balance of discipline and enthusiasm to students of all ages, from young children to adults. Master Tony Yoo holds his instructors to the highest standards, without exception. Hence, Mr. Nech’s position at our dojo is a testament to his capability, and I endorse him with confidence.
