More About Coach Mike
I obtained my first high school coaching job in 1995, when I became the junior varsity coach at Greenville High School in Mississippi. From there, I held the same position at Hudson Catholic High School, Reading Memorial High School, and Lawrence High School. Along the way, I coached at hundreds of youth clinic and camp sessions at all of those locations as well as for the Town of Wayland, MA. My work in all of these settings has been informed by my full-time work as a high school English teacher.
More recently, I've volunteered as a coach of my own children's sports teams and re-entered high school coaching during the fall season as a cross country assistant coach.
I was a co-captain of my own high school basketball team. I am an assistant coach of the defending division 1C state champions in boys cross country.
Clients can expect a thoughtful breakdown of the fundamentals. I'll make sure players build muscle memory of the fundamentals of basic footwork, passing, dribbling, and shooting. When it comes to a skill, we'll learn how to execute it correctly, then we'll practice executing it with power, quickness, or finesse, whichever is called for.
Every session will include agility training, as players--whatever their existing level of athleticism--can increase their agility and quickness.
The session will be marked by its positive and encouraging spirit!
