Today was our first session with Coach Mike, I was very impressed with his knowledge of the game. I thought my son was already ahead of the kids his age but after fifteen minutes he had him doing things more efficiently than before. My son was going through a rough slump during his first all-star season. He went from crushing the ball to hitting little dribblers in the infield. Coach Mike set a solid foundation in our first lesson, he took time and addressed our expectations and our son's expectations for now and the future. Coach Mike B. is the best we've come across in 7 years of private training in Kansas and Alabama. He possesses the incredible abilities to both identify the slightest of mechanical opportunities and explain the solution in a way that students can understand and apply. My son is heading to high school next year and is able to easily apply the modifications made to his mechanics both in the session and in the game, but we have witnessed Coach Mike with much younger and older kids as well and he is equally as effective. What sets Coach Mike B. further apart is that he explains his approach, the approach he expects from his students during both lessons and games, and he follows through. For the first time in a lesson, I saw an instructor explain and develop a sophisticated offensive approach from the moment the batter steps into the on deck circle until the swing is completed... and he managed that in a single lesson while fine tuning picking up the baseball, hands, base, core, shoulder/hip separation, and other mechanics. He also dives deep into the game to reenforce the point with application and reciprocity (explaining pitching with the perspective of a hitter and vice versa). I recommend Coach Mike B for anyone wanting to or currently playing at a highly competitive level, but I will warn you; you will work. The expectations of his students are no less than you expect of him; commitment, follow through, and constant improvement through practice. We are looking forward to the next session with Coach Mike B and many more to come.

We really liked how Coach Mike asked us questions to answer before the first session. The questions started a discussion between my son and I that we had never had. My almost-8-year-old had a session with Coach Mike, it went very well. He did a great job forming a quick rapport with my son, and was able to identify strengths and weaknesses just by watching basic "warm-ups". The session was then about improving the weaknesses, and making sure my son was aware of what needed to be corrected. All of this was done with a big smile on both of their faces, and at the end the first question was "Did you have fun", which is so very important at that age. I would recommend Coach Mike to anyone looking to help their child improve their skills and baseball experience.
