More About Coach Michael
I have experience coaching both boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, focusing heavily on dodging, shooting technique, and offensive skill development. I’ve coached at the youth, high school, and college levels, working with athletes ranging from elementary school through college-aged players. My coaching includes one-on-one training, small group sessions, and team practices. I’ve worked with local high school programs, travel clubs, and college teams to develop players’ footwork, stick skills, and shooting accuracy under pressure.
I competed at the collegiate level at Georgian Court University, where I was named CACC Player of the Year in 2018, Male Athlete of the Year in 2018, and was part of a CACC Conference Championship team. Throughout my college career, I was a multi-year All-Conference selection and led my team in offensive production, specializing in dodging and scoring.
A typical session is built on a proven foundation but is also tailored to each player’s position, skill level, and goals. The structure usually includes:
Dynamic Warm-Up & Footwork – Movement prep with agility ladder, cone drills, and change-of-direction work to prime speed and reaction.
Dodging Mechanics – Working on explosive first steps, body positioning, and deception to create separation from defenders.
Shooting Drills – Repetition from multiple angles and situations, focusing on accuracy, velocity, and quick release under pressure.
Game-Scenario Work – Combining dodges into shooting sequences against live or simulated defense.
Conditioning & Stick Skills – Short bursts of lacrosse-specific conditioning while reinforcing ball control.
Cool Down & Feedback – Light mobility work and a recap on technique improvements and at-home assignments.
This foundation ensures all athletes develop essential skills, while the tailored approach maximizes each player’s individual strengths and needs.
