More About Coach Michael

I have coaching for 20 years from AAU, USSA, and middle school to college. I have coached in Rockingham County: Eden, Madison & Wentworth and Greensboro, North Carolina. I train athletes from age 12 to adult league players. I only have two personal training certifications and lots of experience of being trained as a college and professional athlete.

My first athletic accomplishment was to dunk with my left hand in a game. It happend first in Leipzig, Germany in a packed gym then Tepic, Mexico. I competed at the collegiate level at Bluefield College & Averett University. I played professionally in Europe (2nd level in Germany), and Mexico (Gauadalajara, Jalisco and Muchocan & Gaurero). I did win a few big tournaments in Mexico and big games in Germany and was always awarded captain. I loved to be the leader!

A client can expect a lot of information about what he/she is doing and why. I focus on both depending on the skill of the player. I first do a mental warm up that gets their attention then stretch, then something they prefer to keep them happy then, go 100% hard until we are done quizzing them every step of the way to make sure they understand whats going on in the session.

Coach Phifer is a great teacher to me because he was able to teach me things and show me things I never saw for myself even what lifts to do in the weightroom. We both played pt guard but he is 6'4" and I am 5'4". Explain that! I felt faster, smarter, stronger and more important to my team. That is a great feeling to have on the court. Hi, my name is Aubrey Daniel. I spent 2 seasons with coach Phifer at Guilford Technical Community College. Coach is very skilled and knows the game. He can teach you a lot of moves and ways to set up the guy in front of you. He taught me how to be a great scorer and a quick defender. I have worked out with Coach Mike for a few years off and on for adult basketball leagues and for my health. He is very creative and makes the workouts fun and challenging. Coach Phifer is very serious and passionate about his work . He teaches a lot and make sure you understand what you are doing before you move on to the next drill. I really liked training with coach because I know I got smarter and better at the same time.
