More About Coach Michael

Am currently the Head Coach for Incarnate Word Academy Varsity Softball Program. Also the Head Coach for the St. Louis Lasers Fastpitch Softball Club. The Lasers are a select team of 18U girls, looking to scholarship in college to play fastpitch softball. Have coached for 27 years, girls in all age groups. Am a member of the NFCA, also am an ACE certified ASA Coach. Have been a professional private trainer for 16 years. Am now a Coach for the 12U St. Louis Chaos organization.

In 2009, the Lasers won the ASA Northern National Championship. In 2010, we also played in the ASA/USA National 18U Tournament where we finished in the top 25 out of 140 teams, and this is where we were still a 16U team. My daughter attended Depauw University, where she was an All-American in her Junior year, conference player of the year for 2 years, and many other accolades awarded to her. Every player wanting to play college ball, is playing in college.

For pitching we will go through every phase of the pitch to the finish. Practice is stressed heavily. When they have the release point down well, we will continue on to other pitches stressing the type of spin that is needed for each pitch. For hitting, we go through every part of the swing all the way to the finish. Again, practice is stressed heavily. We then go to hitting to each field of play. I specialize in turning kids over to left handed hitting from right handed. Colleges are more interested in that.
