More About Coach Michael

I have experience coaching youth level and high school level athletes. I was student at Texas A&M University's 2012 Sprint & Development Camp and I have assisted in coaching sprint athletes ages 15-18 in Germany during the summer months. I currently have a bachelors degree in Sport Management with minors in both business and coaching.

I got a scholarship to compete for Texas A&M University out of High School. I am on the top 7 all time list in the 60 meter dash (6.6), a member of the the school record holding 4x1 meter relay (38.30), an All-American and a National Champion in the sport. I am currently training to compete in the 2017 world championship track meet.

A typical session with me would include a base warm up, specific drills and catering to running technique and race modeling. My warm-up would be some easy strides on the track to get the blood flowing. Flexibility exercises to get the body loosened up, followed by speed drills to emphasize technique. After warm up, the athlete will do specific speed/speed endurance workouts according to the athletes event. Following the workout, the athlete will perform a cool down to reduce muscle soreness and bring breathing levels and heart back down.

Michael is excellent at getting young runners to understand the concept of good form. He implies good drills into the warm up to help develop the athletes technique. You can tell that he truly wants to see the athletes he coaches to do well regardless of the level of talent they have.
