More About Coach Megan

As a former college athlete, I bring a strong foundation in discipline, teamwork, and player development to my coaching. I’ve served as head coach for middle school boys’ basketball in the South Shore and coached a 6th grade girls’ club team in Jamaica Plain. In addition to team coaching, I’ve led individual training sessions for middle and high school athletes, helping them build both skills and confidence on the court. I enjoy working with youth and high school players and am passionate about fostering a love for the game at those levels.

I competed at the collegiate level in Division III Women’s Basketball at Principia College, where I served as team captain during my senior year. Throughout my junior and senior seasons, I earned multiple SLIAC Player of the Week honors. Before college, I played high-level AAU basketball in Massachusetts and was a four-year varsity player in high school. These experiences helped shape my leadership, work ethic, and deep understanding of the game, qualities I now bring to coaching.

In a typical session, I focus on helping young athletes build strong fundamentals while keeping the workout fun and confidence-building. I usually start with a dynamic warm-up and ball-handling drills to get moving and comfortable with the ball. From there, I work on core skills like shooting form, footwork, passing, and defensive positioning. I like to incorporate competitive drills and small games that simulate real-game situations, so players can learn decision-making and teamwork in action.

Each session is tailored to the athlete’s age and skill level, but my main focus is always on improvement, effort, and love for the game. I make sure every player leaves feeling challenged, supported, and excited to keep growing.

Client Reviews

Playing basketball with Megan was an absolute joy for the years we were teammates. Off the court, she is an amazing person - light-hearted, thoughtful, consistent and always hard-working. On the court, she is truly a baller and an incredible athlete!! Megan has always been a strong player. She’s got a fantastic shot, is great about communicating on the court, and has excellent ball control. She is the type of player that can do it all and knows how to work any of the guard spots while also being strong enough to work in the post. Her defense and quick reflexes for steals and fast breaks made her a stand out too. I can’t recommend her enough as a basketball mentor and coach!
I had the pleasure of coaching alongside Megan for several years. She was an awesome coach and mentor to our young players. She combines basketball knowledge and playing experience with a calm, encouraging style. Megan is the kind of coach who helps players develop their skills in a serious manner while also having fun and cultivating a love for the game.
