More About Coach Max
I have given private and group baseball lessons since high school all throughout college. The past two summers I have also been an assistant coach for my former club team in high school called Mudville Pinnacle in Seattle. I have given lessons and worked with players all the way from 8 to 18 years old.
I played the majority of my college career at D1 Long Island University after beginning my college career at Oregon State University. My senior year of high school I was named first team all state (WA). Through my career playing mostly Centerfield at Long Island I batted .333 with a .424 OBP and 30 Stolen Bases. I appeared on Sportscenter Top 10 for a diving catch I made to save a game. I experienced several major injuries throughout my career but managed to keep playing while discovering new ways to take care of my body.
With my sessions I like to touch on all areas from the mental side to mechanical adjustments and general philosophies of the game but I find focusing on the subjects that players are most interested in tends to get the most out of the sessions. If a session is an in person workout then I always begin with a thorough dynamic warmup to both teach the player but also get their bodies properly prepped. Depending on the focuses for the day I like to break the lesson into a few different drills to target what we are seeking to improve. I encourage players to talk and ask questions throughout the session to help them better understand the new concepts.
