Good coach

Thank you Matt for being so patient with my son! We loved your easy yet effective tools for playing baseball. Looking forward to another lesson soon.

Matt Hobbie was my Quarterback coach at the varsity high school football level for three years in San Marino, CA. Under his coaching and guidance, my record as a starter was 24 wins and 3 losses. We won a CIF Championship together when I was a senior. When I got to high school I was nothing more than a half-way decent athlete who liked to throw the ball. When I graduated, I was a disciplined and poised sharp-shooter with sound feet, a quick release, the ability to scan all options quickly on every play, and had the opportunity to play at a Division 1 school. All of this can be attributed to the coaching I received from Matt Hobbie during my three years as his Quarterback. There was never a day of practice where he did not expect perfection on every play. Whether it was carrying out a fake or rolling to my left and hitting a receiver 30 yards down field, I did it with full focus because that is what he taught me. I owe much of my success to him and can only wish he was still my coach today.
To whom it may concern, If you are a quarterback and you want to get better at your craft, consider yourself blessed to have come across Matt Hobbie. Matt is the most knowledgeable and affective football coach I have come across. His knowledge of football is so much higher than most because of his love for the game. Matt understands every aspect about every position on the field because that is how he is. He just gets football. As mentioned before, he is also very effective as a coach. My junior year, I basically did not play quarterback and only had 6 touchdowns all year. The next year, I had 3000 total yards and 40 touchdowns. His past four quarterbacks have been named to the All-CIF teams at least once, some twice. And not to mention, he orchestrated a Southern California State Championship team in 2015. Those aren’t coincidences. Those numbers are a direct result of his coaching and influence on his players. Matt will work his players hard, but that is because he believes each athlete has so much potential that he hasn’t tapped yet and he is determined to tap that potential and turn it into talent. And all of his players love and have loved playing for him because they all have so much respect for him and he makes the game so fun for his players. He coaches with such enthusiasm and passion, that it is almost impossible to not be excited to play for or work with him. When looking for a great coach to coach up and coming players, a picture of Matt Hobbie should show up. He has proven his success with kids for so many years and he is so easy to work with. You will not find a better coach to develop your child than Coach Hobbie.
