More About Coach Marquess
I have been coaching high school in the Clark County School District for 10 years. I have coached Junior Varsity and Varsity the entire time. Coached at Eldorado High School, Sunrise Mountain HS, Valley HS, and now Canyon Springs HS. I am the current assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. I can help work with youth from 8 and up. I am CPR and first aid certified by the school district.
I graduated from the University of Utah where I played in and highlighted both the Liberty bowl in 2004 and the Fiesta Bowl in 2005 under head coach Urban Meyer, I was all conference my Jr. year there at the university and played and lettered both years of participation. Led the team in sacks and tackles for losses.
My sessions would start with routine warm ups and stretches. Making sure I get the athletes worked up and blood flowing. Pace and intensity are very important to me. Then go through position specific drills and focus on proper body movement for the position. Footwork drills, hand eye coordination, catching, throwing etc. This would carry on for 30 -45 min. Afterwards we would focus on more detailed position specific drills where the focus would be in game movements actions and reads. This is where the older clients would probably get the best assistance. Finally we would do15-20 min of conditioning just to maintain the proper stamina followed by a cool down stretch.
