More About Coach Mario

I am currently the strength and conditioning coach at Findlay Prep. I started my career working at Velocity Sports Performance. I trained at the time the state champion White Station High School Mens' basketball team, two memphis soccer clubs as well as assisted in the training of NFL combine athletes. Since then I have worked at Lifetime Fitness and Biomechaniks where I have had the opportunity to train professional athletes across the United States. I have trained NBA, WNBA, and overseas basketball players.
Most notable clients-Penny Hardaway(NBA Allstar-University of Memphis head coach), PJ Washington (UK/Charlotte Hornets) , Bol Bol (Denver Nuggets), Lester Hudson(Chinese league MVP), Kyler Edwards (Texas Texas), Adonis Thomas (University of Memphis)

I played college basketball at the University Of Southern Mississippi from 1999-2003 in which one year we were co-regular season champions along with Cincinnati in the C-USA Conference.

First we would go through a movement analysis for the first session to ensure there are not any overactive or underactive muscles. We would then go over what the athlete wanted to achieve during their training time. I would explain how I focus on the core and work outward from their. Sessions would gradually get harder while going through the program with basic to advance exercises.

My name’s Ferrakohn Hall. This is my 7th offseason professionally, and none have been greater than the summer / fall I spent with Mario Myles preparing for the opportunity to make my dreams come true back when I first began. I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2013 and becoming a professional basketball player seemed like a long shot, but I decided on what I wanted and went for it. I trained hard on my own the summer following my senior year and ended up getting the opportunity to be apart of a Jindichuv Hradec, a small club in Denmark! 🇩🇰 My stint there was short because of an injury that would keep me sidelined for several months. So I returned home to work at the Bank of Bartlett and train myself once again. Eventually by January of 2014 I got another opportunity to go play in Czech Republic! 🇨🇿 I was happy to be doing what I loved, but I always knew that I wanted to play at the highest level. I also knew that I wasn’t nearly as physically fit or strong enough to compete with Athletes at the NBA level. So, I prayed about it and kept my head down. Then one day on Instagram I came across Mario Myles page. I knew him from my time in high school at White Station. He was always super professional and a great athlete so automatically he stood out as someone I should work with. Then I read his story about helping a young lady recover from a traumatic accident and I was completely sold. I knew that he could transform my body and make me elite. That’s exactly what he did too! We worked 3-4 days per week for 3 months consistently. Sometimes he would even come to pick me up on Saturday’s so that we could go run hills or do other activities at his church. He was awesome, something like a big brother that I never had. By the time September came around, the Grizzlies gave me an invigoration to come in and work out and play. I knew that I was in great shape, stronger than I had ever been, and I was jumping out of the gym. All because of OUR dedication to being consistent and Mario’s mastermind training. I went on to be placed with the Grizzlies D-League team and that catapulted my career. I have now traveled the world playing in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Hong Kong and also various teams in the NBA Gleague. (Santa Cruz Warriors) (Iowa Energy) (Windy City Bulls) There’s no doubt in my mind that without the help of Mario, I would be close to where I am now in my career and I’m thankful for that. Obviously I had to put the work in, but he taught me so many lessons on how to be a pro before I ever was one. Literally at the end of workouts I could feel such an improvement that it made me feel like Mario was family to me. That feeling has stuck with me forever, and I wish I could have him with me ALL THE TIME!!!!! Training is his gift! Not that he’s a rahrah in your face type of guy, but he actually understands sports science. He’s motivational in a way that puts the ball in your court. And he’s always super positive no matter the situation. Sounds cheesy, but he’s someone I look up to and aspire to be like. Anyone who has them as apart of their team would be lucky to! -Ferrakohn Hall
Coach Myles is passionate about what he does. When I came to Findlay he better prepared me for the next level. His approach and love for what he does is what leaves the biggest impact.
I walked into Findlay prep at very lightweight...around 137ish. Basketball obviously required you to have some weight to you, not a lot but enough to make it look and feel like I’m not too small out there. 137 is very light so I knew I had to put some weight on before the season. During this time we lifted about 4-5 days a week and coach Mario stayed on me about eating and when I should be and what I should be eating at certain times. The weight room and Peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches became my best friend that time of year. I ended up getting to like 153 which is up 15 pounds. I never thought I could do that in my life ever. I always thought my metabolism was too fast to even do that in that amount time but with the right motivation and staying on top of things I was able to do it.
