More About Coach Margaret
I have been the Head Varsity Cross Country Coach at Newton Country Day School, a private high school in Newton, MA for six years. My teams have been two time League Champions and two time New England Champions. I have also been awarded League Coach of the Year twice.
I have been a head coach at Needham Youth Track Club for one year and a Staff Coach at Northeast Kingdom Running Camp, a New Balance sponsored running camp in Lydonville, VT for three years.
I am USATF-Level I certified. I have taken a Concussion Certification Course, a Fundamentals of Coaching Course, and have attended Green Mountain Running Camp's Coaching Clinic. I am on the board of directors for both USATF-NE and for Greater Boston Track Club.
I was a Division I Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track & Field athlete at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. I graduated in 2010. I currently compete for Greater Boston Track Club.
1-hour sessions:
10 minutes warm-up
10 minutes dynamic stretching and plyometrics
20-25 minutes speed drills
10 minutes cool-down
5-10 minutes static stretching
This is an example for a sprinter or an athlete coming from another discipline, ie. soccer, football, lacrosse, etc.
All workouts are tailored to the individual based upon ability, current fitness, and goals.
