More About Coach Marc

I have worked in various health clubs (YMCA, Boston sports clubs), a StretchLab and a few running stores . I have held positions of a running a club instructor/running specialist, personal run coach (Run Gait-Certified), a NASM certified personal trainer, and a certified stretch therapist. As an independent personal trainer and personal run coach, I have worked with many different ages including high school up until people in their 60s! I have had the pleasure to work with athletes that are competing in high school, college or runners in their masters years competing for their best marathon, possible. I am also proud to say that I’m a teacher of a newer skill-set of rhythmic-breathing! It’s really rewarding and powerful to empower a unique cutting edge skill! I have been training all of my runners (to breathe deeper) for an improved overall running gateway to their best run years, yet.

In my youth (8-13 years old)~ I started running for fun and for training for other sports. When I was 8 years old, I won the 1st race I ever ran (summer camp). In high school, I became more focused. During my HS years, I was a state meet contender in the 1000m, 1-mile and 2-mile. I had HS personal bests of 2:39 1000m, 4:32 mile & 10:24 2-mile. In college, I ran all 3 seasons and was able to be very competitive and run best times of 4:02 in the 1500 and 26:04 for 8k in cross country. I fell a few seconds short of qualifying for 1500m Nationals and cross country Nationals . Post-college years, I have set many new personal bests as well as competing with some of the best competitors in the nation/world. A few of my best performances include; The Boston Marathon 2011 2:32, Dublin Marathon 2xTop American 33rd and 31st overall 2010/2011 2:31, 2:32, 1st place overall Tucson Marathon 4,000ft-2,000 ft elevation 2011, 1st place in a Hampton beach 13.1 1:11 and The Falmouth Road Race 2x top 40 finisher 37:30 and Beach 2 Beacon 10k 32:24 best time. A few other notable honors; 1st overall in Manchester City, NH and Myles Standish Marathon Plymouth, Ma . 5 mile-time treadmill trial at 14,000ft Elev. Pikes Peak, Co (sub 38 mins). In March 2019, I also had a standout race that was impactful in my run career. I ran a Southern California 15k road race with a rolling parent and dirt- hilly profile. This was my 2nd year in a row receiving top podium honors.

A client can expect to have a session plan that involves learning how to breathe better, gain steady-positive results and a clear focus on running mechanics with my feedback on the ideal path to get there. Often, I will guide the individual through a various set of dynamic warm- ups, teaching rhythmic-breathing techniques and the desired training for that particular day/week/month. A session plan will be individual online content and most likely will be virtual face time (especially right now). In an actual run session we will either do run drills/core, Gait-analytics, run mechanic work or I’ll discuss a plan of a new run schedule .. (via FaceTime, Zoom or Skype). In a session plan, I’ll also prescribe workouts, daily and or weekly running (based on your own ability level) to do with my guidance & expertise. Recently I worked with Marc as my personal trainer. My goal was to have Marc help me with core exercises and incorporate it into improving my running. When I talked to Marc he worked with me to improve my running with proper breathing, which honestly helped a lot. It took concentration on my part, but the technique he taught me worked. Marc is a great runner in my opinion and I looked up to him to help me and he did.
