I do Strength and Conditioning and injury prevention for athletes. I have trained a variety of athletes that competed in swimming, football, soccer, baseball, track and field, basketball, tennis, lacrosse, hockey, volleyball, boxing, long distance running, cycling, equestrian, martial arts, dancing and cheerleading. I have also worked with individuals in the armed forces. I have trained a variety of age groups, from elementary school to geriatric populations, however I mainly work with athletes in high school, college and post college athletes into their 50s. I have trained at several gyms and also train athletes privately on athletic fields, tracks or at their homes. I currently do a lot of training with military populations.

I was a high school runner competing in Cross Country for two seasons. I was also a high school Track and Field athlete competing in four seasons of winter track and four seasons of spring track. My main event was the pole-vault. I also ran sprint races including the 55m, 100, 200m, 300m and 400m. My experience as a track athlete allows me to assess running technique and to build acceleration and speed in athletes that compete in sprint based sports, such as soccer, lacrosse, football, hockey, baseball and track. My experience as a distance runner allows me to help distance athletes to compete without developing overuse injuries and to improve running efficiency.

A clients athletic goals, experience, sport dictate the program that I will design for them. A baseball, a soccer player and a cheerleader are going to train differently because their sports are different. I use a combination of strength, power and endurance training, running drills, corrective exercise, mobility work, static stretching, soft tissue work and mainly other training tools to construct the ideal program for each individual. How I determine what an athlete needs to excel in their sport and stay injury free while doing so, is through extensive evaluation of the athlete. When working with an athlete, I first gather informations on their heath status, past and current injures, age, training experience and goals. Then I assess their muscular and postural imbalances and test their abilities in the form of flexibility, mobility, speed, strength, power, agility, sport specific endurance and other aspects of athleticism. I use the results of my evaluations in combination with the athletes goals, to design training and nutritional programs that will improve their weaknesses, resulting in enhanced athletic performance as well decreased occurrence of injury.

My training sessions usually have 4 broad components in the order as listed. How much time we spend on each component and what we specifically do varies from athlete to athlete.
