More About Coach Mackenzie
My coaching experience began in college, where I coached the Long Island Yellow Jackets during the summer. At the same time, I provided private lessons to players on my team as well as athletes from my local community.
For the past two years, I have coached both the varsity and JV programs for a local high school in the Atlanta area during their fall ball season. In both seasons, one of my teams won the end-of-season tournament championship.
I grew up playing club lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets. I continued my career at Arizona State University, competing at the Division I level.
Since graduating, I have earned a spot on the Armenian Women's Sixes National Team as they pursue Olympic qualification. I am honored to serve as the team's captain as well.
A typical training session begins with dynamic stretching and a full-body warm-up to prepare for movement and help reduce the risk of injury.
Next, we'll focus on footwork drills using cones and agility ladders to improve speed, balance, coordination, and change of direction.
From there, we'll move into stick work drills designed to develop stick handling, control, accuracy, and overall technique.
Finally, we'll finish with position-specific drills that simulate game situations and reinforce the skills needed for your role on the field. Each session is designed to build confidence, improve performance, and help athletes reach the next level.
