More About Coach Lorenzo

My name is Lorenzo Griffin “Coach Zo” I was born and raised in Riverside, California. I am currently an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of La Verne in La Verne, California. Prior to joining the Leopards staff, I completed
a nine-year professional basketball career (2012-2021) in Germany; where I played for TSV Wasserburg and TV Traunstein Chiemgau Baskets.

While playing in Germany I also coached youth Boys and Girls basketball teams ranging between the ages of 8-20. As Coach Zo I won multiple league Championships with the u14,u16,u18 boys, and the u18 and u20 girls teams, in the following seasons: 2013-2015, 2018, and 2019.

I have my USA Gold Coach Basketball License

Throughout my professional career in Germany (2012-2021), I averaged 23.4 points per game, 6.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. My 3,851 points were the most points scored by a TSV Wasserburg men’s basketball team member in the Bayernliga. I was named a Bayernliga/Oberliga All-Star on two occasions in 2018 and 2019. In addition, I won 5 scoring titles (2014-2018 & 2019) while playing in the Bayernliga South Division.

During my senior year at Waldorf University I averaged 8.7 Points per game, 3.5 Assist’s, and 3.8 Rebounds. I was ranked 2nd in the nation with a 90% Free throw percentage (NAIA Division 2) during the 2009-2010 season.

The first step in the process is to have a consultation with the Student Athlete and his or her Parents. The purpose of the consultation is to get a feel for the student athletes current basketball experience, goals, and expectations. The next step in the process is on court work ( Basketball skills training) where I put the student athlete through a series of drills that help’s us to determine what areas we need to strengthen. This process will help the student athlete become the best version of themselves and prepare them for game situations.

Client Reviews

Coach Lorenzo was punctual and professional during our session. My son got some great tips and got an excellent workout. He does the right amount of pushing the athlete to keep trying and follow through with respect and positive reassurance.
We are looking forward to working on my sons basketball skills with Coach Lorenzo.

Great Coach, really loves what he does and has brought the best out of my son thus far.

Coach Lorenzo is very knowledgeable about basketball and is a great coach.

It all started two years ago when I first met Coach Zo. I knew from the first moment it will be a great opportunity for me to get better at the game I Love. The trainings that we did were very good for improving my Basketball IQ, Basketball skills and being a better teammate. I just want to say Thank You for believing in me and helping me make my dreams come true.
Being able to workout with PLSA (Prolife Sports Academy) during my time in Germany benefited my game in more ways than one. Coach Zo understood my game and gave me workouts that were geared to my strengths and weakness. I had the pleasure of watching him torture the German league and also witness everything he did during his workouts, he applied to the game. Best trainers around!
