More About Coach Lincoln
I have worked with swimmers of all ages and skill levels, from young children aged four and up to adults. I am comfortable and proficient in teaching both beginners and advanced swimmers, helping them refine their techniques and improve their performance. I swam competitively for four years in Division One at Long Island University and one year in Division Two at Lynn University, graduating in 2023-24. My background also includes serving as a lifeguard.
During my collegiate career at Lynn, I participated in 10 meets, earned All-SSC Second Team honors, and set personal bests in events such as the 500 free (4:27.09) placing 4th, 1000 free (9:22.94), 1650 free (15:48.43), and 400 IM (3:57.21) at the SSC Championships. I also placed third in the 800 free relay (6:36.40) and achieved personal bests in the 200 fly (1:57.49) and the 100 fly (53.55) and 200 breast (2:05.63) at the House of Champions Invitational.
Technique Focus
I emphasize proper technique in every session. Depending on the swimmer’s level and needs, we might focus on:
• Stroke Mechanics: Fine-tuning the fundamentals of each stroke (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly).
• Breathing Techniques: Ensuring efficient breathing patterns to enhance performance and stamina.
• Turns and Starts: Practicing efficient turns and explosive starts to improve race times.
Main Set
The main set is tailored to the swimmer’s goals and current fitness level. It could include:
• Speed Work: Short, intense intervals to build speed and power.
• Endurance Sets: Longer swims to build aerobic capacity and endurance.
• Specific Drills: Drills targeting specific aspects of swimming, such as kick drills, pull drills, and technique-focused swims.
