More About Coach Lika
I have over 6 years of experience coaching tennis to players of all ages and skill levels — from young children as young as 4 years old to adult beginners and advanced players. I’ve worked at various tennis academies and run summer camps where I coached, supervised, and supported players in both group settings and private lessons.
I’ve been playing tennis for almost 18 years, and I bring that lifelong passion to my coaching. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your game to the next level, I can tailor drills, hitting sessions, and strategy-based training to fit your goals. My focus is on helping players improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy the game.
I competed at the collegiate level, starting at Los Angeles Mission College, where I earned All-American honors. During my time there, I was also the runner-up in doubles at the prestigious Ojai Tournament. After two successful years, I transferred to Dominican University in New York, an NCAA Division II school, where I continued to compete at a high level and recently graduated.
My experiences as a college athlete have shaped my understanding of the game, discipline, and competitive mindset — all of which I bring into my coaching.
In a typical session with me, I focus first and foremost on proper technique. We start with drills designed to build a strong foundation — including grip, footwork, and balance — which are essential for long-term improvement. Once the fundamentals are solid, we move into more advanced areas like court positioning, movement, and strategy tailored to the player’s level and goals.
I believe learning should be both effective and enjoyable, so I always make sure the sessions are fun, positive, and engaging. Whether you’re just picking up a racquet or training to compete, I create a supportive environment where players can improve their game while genuinely enjoying tennis.
