More About Coach Lexi
I received my Bachelors in Exercise Science with an Emphasis on Sports Performance from GCU. Since graduating, I have been a sports performance/strength and conditioning coach for 4 years. I have experience coaching youth, high school, NCAA and NFL/NBA. I have worked at EliteU and OrthoArizona. Throughout my time in this industry, I have helped produce some of the top athletes in the country who have won national championships, committed to their dream colleges and even drafted to the NFL/NBA. I'm extremely passionate about working with athletes to achieve their goals and give them the competitive mental edge that will equip them both in and out of sports.
Growing up I was a competitive gymnast. I have travelled and competed all around the country in regional and national competitions. My biggest accomplishments are state, regional, and 2013 YMCA Nationals champion. Due to multiple injuries and surgeries, I had to retire from gymnastics as a senior in high school.
Every training varies depending on the athletes age, sport, experience and goals. A general layout of a training session would start with activation exercises for the ankles, hips, glutes and hamstrings. This will help with muscle engagement prior to the speed session or lift. If we are focusing on strength training I start with high velocity exercises, followed by high force, assistance and then accessory exercises. Speed sessions will vary on if the focus is acceleration, change of direction or agility.
