I am an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer with experience in training clients of many ages ranging from 10 years of age to 53 from beginner to advanced.
My two most recent and proud accomplishments include a personal best marathon finishing time of 3 hours and 36 minutes (1 minute and a half shy of qualifying for the Boston Marathon) where I also placed 1st in my age group in 2014 and deadlifting 165 pounds (more than my body weight) in July 2015.
I ran the Boston Marathon in 2017 after qualifying with a personal marathon record of 3 hours and 29 minutes in 2016.
My primary goal is to improve the athlete’s speed, strength, agility, conditioning, and power, while aiding in injury prevention. The sessions are dependent and customized based on the client's goals. A general session will consist of a dynamic warm up to loosen up the muscles and joints for injury prevention. The meat of the session is to get the heart rate up, strengthen the body and mind, and burn calories through plyometric exercise and drills. Each session closes with a cool down and stretch. I kept getting a strange leg pain / injury when I ran. Lena gave me some fantastic easy to remember tips for how to maintain great form during long runs. She also took me through a series of exercises to open up hips and activate legs.
I’ve gone on 3 runs on my own since the session and feel great thanks to the form tips, exercises and hip openers :)
Will definitely schedule another session with Lena to work on other fitness goals :)

My son needed a gait analysis as he is unable to run distance without being in a great amount of pain. He will be leaving for basic training in the spring so this was an absolute necessity to address. During one session with my son, Coach Lena was able to view and analyze his gait and then explain to him what he was doing "wrong". She then provided him intensive but easily understood instruction on how to adapt his gait to better sync his natural running style and correct his foot strike. It has been less than one week and her corrections have resulted in significantly reduced pain during and after his run. My son is not yet 19 but Coach Lena put him at ease and made his session an overwhelming success! We both would highly recommend Coach Lena...
