More About Coach Lauren
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Samford University, experience helping in an outpatient physical therapy clinic as well as creating running plans for close friends. Currently studying for my personal training certification through the NASM. My goal is to help everybody come to love running as a sport. I don't want people to feel intimidated or think that they would not benefit from a running coach. Coaching can help any runner on any experience level from a complete beginner to the advanced runner.
Collegiate rower at Samford University for four years, competing all across the southeast with a big part of our land workouts including running of some kind. Two time marathon finisher (3:56), 8 time half marathon finisher (1:44), with many more planned. In addition to racing I have also paced half marathons through Beast Pacing, which is where I run at a specific pace in order to help others stay consistent throughout the race and reach their goals.
With a background in exercise science, your safety is my first concern. In addition, I believe that no two runners are the same, so I want to get to know you as a person in order to create your best running plan. Your running plan will not only include different runs, but will also incorporate stretching and strength exercises in order to keep you safe and prevent muscle imbalances. I also want to make myself available as much as possible to run with you on training runs to encourage and motivate you along the way. I want to be very present in your running journey and not just send you a plan and see you once a week. A typical session will most likely include some speedwork, a warm up and cool down, and any other strength drills I feel are necessary. Expect me to correct poor posture or form, as it will ultimately help you in the long run.
