There hasn't been a time in my life when I was not swimming and/or coaching.
I swam competitively from age six up until I graduated high school.
From the time I was in junior high, I found ways to teach others the skills I had developed in the water through private lessons and helping out on summer league teams.
By the time I graduated high school, my spine had had enough. Years of swimming and tumbling left me with a painful stress fracture. But I didn't stay away from the pool for long.
I went to college in Wichita Falls, Texas, where I joined a year-round swim team as the assistant coach.
I was there from 2007 to 2009 before I had to step down to take my first job as a TV news producer.
A few months after college graduation, I moved back home to Houston after being offered a job as a coach for Sienna Plantation Aquatics (U.S.S.). I spent the spring and summer of 2010 with that team before moving on to take my second job as a TV news producer in Shreveport, Louisiana.
There I joined a masters team to keep up with the sport.
In 2012, I moved back to Houston, and have been coaching private swim lessons ever since.

I enjoy working with swimmers of all ages. While I am good at teaching kids how to swim, I prefer to teach them how to swim better. I'm big on technique.
My biggest success stories have been with triathletes.
